I cant. My GPS lives there full time. The only think i can think of against would be the clearly obvious holes.

Thats the way i would go if i were intending on mounting it there. That or try Body Moulding double sided tape as its pretty strong and seems to last well holding the mic of my UHF in place.

all mounted now, went the 3m auto double sided tape mount option and seems to be hanging on fine, additionally thee is enough flex on the column cover to wedge a screwdriver in between it and the dash to create a gap big enough to push the 4 wires down behind the dash.

and end product looks neat enough and plenty of room to get to the manual operation lever underneath,

now for the wiring, anyone know where connector c10 is?

Not sure if it is connector C10 but I picked up the brake line from a connector under the passenger side kick panel. Can't recall the colour of the wire butr it was the same as the one on the brake switch up under the driver's side dash. It was a lot easier to get to the kick panel connector.

I picked up my trigger wire from the switch on the brake pedal which i believe is c-114 in that image.

Bit of a pain to get to but can be soldered with some difficulty. Other alternative is to use a scotch lock though far from the best method.

Hi
Mounted mine on the fuse cover with a block connecter at the back of it
Drilled a hole in the cover first for the wires to go thru fitted the block connecter and fitted the base bracket to the cover
Buy a new cover from the dealer about $12.00
Now when not needed just pull the cover of with the controller on it and replace it with the other one neat as when not towing

Hello Lads

I am glad I found this thread as I am having a bastard of a time finding somewhere to mount my controller.

What has me concerned is... some of you guys have mounted them on the side, and on 45 degree angle almost facing up.

The manual states that is must be horizontal and level. Can anyone comment on this?

There just seems to be no easy spot to mount it. :(

Cheers

I have one of the older style Tekonsha controllers mounted in place of the ashtray. Very easy to reach so I can control the van manually.

I tried it on the lower dash panel first & kept hitting it with my knee

Will be doing this job shortly. Noticed that a vehicle specific harness is available, seems that would be way easier then any other method of wiring. Has anyone any experience of this? Is it really just plug n play?

Found this on a Pajero site, hoping it will be the same for a Triton. genuine Mitsubishi EBC harness Part # MR936166. About $80 from a Mitsi dealer.

Location of Electric Brake Controller

I had my P3 professionally fitted today.

Couldn't be buggered doing it myself.

I asked our AE about the loss of cruise control issue sometimes encountered.

He says it happens all the time, and not just with Tritons, usually with dealer fitted controllers (from which he makes a crapload of money from fixing their f-ups).

Apparently there are two switches on the brake pedal, one for the lights, one for the cruise in all of the newer cars

Cut into the wrong one for the brake controller and, bingo, no cruise control.

Anyway, mine works perfectly.

MN GLR, P3 mounted ahead of the 4WD lever in the console. No bumping legs on that baby!

$220. That included running a new 4mm cable to the rear to replace the wire in the standard tow harness, which my AE likened to a "fusible link" due to its inadequate size.

I'll get some pics and post tonight

Should have qualified, the $220 was fit only. I still paid $155 for the controller. So $375 all up.
