I've had a play around with the nav boot loader (the screen where you can select on or off road navigation) and any gps program that can run on windows CE 6 *should* work

apparently there is a ce6 version of tomtom out there, but it is a bit buggy

at the moment I'm trying to get the newer version of iGo, Primo 1.2 (effectively iG09)

Just a quick Question,
where did you guys connect the reverse camera trigger wire ( tiny red one I assume ).
Do I need to run a wire to the power side of the reverse lamp?, or is there somewhere under the dash where I can hook in to?

I connected mine to the reverse light. All along the drivers side then pop up through the floor behind the drivers seat into the cab then under the drivers feet to the unit. Works well.

do you mean the tiny red wire that is attached to the Yellow RCA Plug?
if so, the tiny red wire is to make the headunit switch to camera when the camera is powered

if you wire the camera (red/black wires on the loom near the camera) to the reverse light and connect the tiny red wire to the wire coming out of the headunit that is marked 'back' the display will switch to camera when reverse is selected

Got the unit installed today. Very happy with it. Still trying to work out how to browse by artist, playlist etc on the iPhone, but apparently you can. Disappointed that I couldn't get the original trip computer/data unit installed elsewhere on the console. Didn't realise that it's actually bigger than a single-din! Anyone else got any ideas or ways to have it installed if not in the double-din slot?

The MN, if that's what you have, standard GLX-R trip computer just has more colours. The ML's not standard DIN size either.

I've looked at this too and the other issue with the GLX-R MN is the rear elec window button and cig lighter are on that panel :? You'd need to move the window button and the cig lighter somewhere to then install the computer :evil:

I'm still hoping someone can produce a program code to get the Dig_options unit to accept the input from the sensors the ome computer uses :geek:

Installed the unit!
Many thanks Scotty, your post made it much easier. GPS not working ..seems the mini sd card is blank :o , so Matt's sending me out another ( should arrive today ).
Reverse Camera almost done, Tested it using a jump pack to power it. Just need to route the loom under the vehicle and fit the camera.
Really happy with the unit! :D
Next step is to find a pocket to fit where the old radio resided.
I may then look at relocating the HUD.

Cheers!

Can't get the Navigation to work on this unit. At first when pressing either the "street" or "offroad" button it would give me an error message in German, followed by a file path

\storagecard\Navione\icons\background.bmp

It would not let me go any further. Assuming the german meant it was looking for a background file that wasn't there, I copied an existing .bmp file and renamed it background. This seemed to do the trick initially as I could then do an address search, but now the unit just keeps resetting, every time I go through the menu to try to look at a map. Anyone had this problem at all?

Firstly, go to the main settings screen on your unit and make sure that the language is set to English. I hope you haven't been into WinCE and changed language settings in there :evil: :evil:

Second, it looks like the configuration files may be pointing to files that either aren't there or have different names.

When you select Navigation from the main menu it should point to a file called SysInfoSettings in the Desktop folder. This file contains this:

Skin/Main.ini

The file Main.ini should contain something like this:
GLOBALSETTINGS
ShowMessage = 0
QuitOnDoubleClick = no
X = 0
Y = 0
Width = 800
Height = 480
Arrange = No
BackgroundBitmap = ..\icons\background.bmp
StartUpAnimation = NoAnimation
ShutDownAnimation = NoAnimation
Accelerated = yes
TopMost = no

;This was original
;BITMAPBUTTON
;x = 60
;y = 80
;Command = \StorageCard\street\street.exe
;BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\Street Logo 1.bmp
;BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\Street Logo 1.bmp
;
;BITMAPBUTTON
;x = 500
;y = 65
;Command = \StorageCard\offroad.\offroad.exe
;BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\Desert Logo 1.bmp
;BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\Desert Logo 1.bmp
;
;BITMAPBUTTON
;x = 20
;y = 395
;BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\Home Button.bmp
;BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\Home Button.bmp
;QuitOnExecute = yes

; ----------------------------------------------------------------------

; ------- This is the On Road Navigation Button ------------------------
; Mine is set up to run PolNav which is named street.exe in the street directory
BITMAPBUTTON
x = 60
y = 80
Command = \StorageCard\street\street.exe
BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\Street Logo 1.bmp
BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\Street Logo 1 over.bmp

; ------- This is the Off Road Navigation Button -----------------------
; DOwnload OziExplorer from the below link
; http://www.oziexplorer3.com/ozice/downl ... me_arm.zip
; Extract it to a directory called OziExplorer on your SDCard
BITMAPBUTTON
x = 500
y = 65
Command = \StorageCard\OziExplorer\OziExplorerCE.exe
BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\Desert Logo 1.bmp
BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\Desert Logo 1 over.bmp

; ------- This is the Home Button on the bottom left of the screen -----
BITMAPBUTTON
x = 20
y = 395
BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\Home Button.bmp
BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\Home Button.bmp
QuitOnExecute = yes

; ------- This is the Windows button and gives you access to the WindowsCE Desktop
; Please be careful what files you modify here.
BITMAPBUTTON
x = 129
y = 395
BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\win.bmp
BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\win.bmp
Command = \explorer.exe

; ------- Total Commander (Disk) Button
; Once again, please be careful what you modify using this program. Back Up, Back Up!
; You'll need a keyboard to type filenames, so once you start TC double click JOTKBD. Instant keyboard
BITMAPBUTTON
x = 229
y = 395
BitmapNormal = ..\Icons\TC.bmp
BitmapPushed = ..\Icons\TC.bmp
Command = \StorageCard\TotalCommander\cecmd.exe

Your version of the street navigation program may have a different name so you may need to change so it points to the correct file. You probably should also change back the name of the .bmp file that you changed. It is probably needed for something else and by changing its' name you've created the reason why the program just keeps "resetting".

I hope you made a backup copy of everything on the SD card before you started changing things. If you did, then copy the backup back on to the SD card. If you didn't then I hope you have a very good memory.

If you feel that you don't have the skills to start changing things then drop me a PM with your email and I can probably get you going again.

Fixed the problem. Got the update link from salt and downloaded it. I was correct that the background.bmp file was missing as it was in the updated version. Not sure what other changes the update made, but it's working now. Can't get into off-road though as it asks for a serial number etc. Was that supposed to come with the unit too?

what i mean is do they have the rca pre outs to be able to wire them up properly so that the amp can either run just the sub/s or run the sub and the speakers?

Might be best to go here and ask the seller himself: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GPS-Mitsubishi-Pajero-Triton-Challenger-Navigation-DVD-HD-Panel-iPod-Stereo-/250883395404?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a69d0cf4c#ht_8288wt_1260

They do a plug and play option where the plugs match the vehicle but if I recall correctly I've seen a version with RCA outs which I took to be pre-outs of the kind you'd use for your amp.

Hi there,

Anyone done this and relocated the multi function display?

I am looking at doing the same thing to my GLX-R, but am having trouble working out how to relocate the display to fit into the old stereo slot.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Scotty

There are posts around here somewhere where someone did relocate it but as I understand it, it is too big to fit into the single DIN sized slot where the old stereo sits. Others have put it right down the bottom with a fascia plate to make it look neat. Lots of soldering and extending of wires, but it can be done.

Scotty I did and it is difficult, I will take some photos tomorrow.

It is in the old radio slot but is difficult to read unless you bend down below the dash level.
I had to cut away a fair bit of the dash to access the buttons......
The wiring reaches no probs.....

Nowforthe5th has relocated his under the ash tray..... check his build thread I think :?

I found a pic, as you can see I had to cut away all the area to the bottom of the unit so I could still use the buttons.

The white plastic thing that illuminates with the dash lights is gone to make room for the RV unit.
