Interestingly though the lights in the buttons have changed from red to green now when I turn on the headlights :o Cool as ! Wonder how we can get into the system and enable the setting to change the colours......the different colours are obviously there....

Hi Salt, we'll get your issue sorted asap. I'm sorry to keep it dragging of for so long. Cheers, Matt

No probs here Matt I like the green lights :D

Thanks for the link for the NAV re-install too, working great 8-)

One question I do have, is the Graphic Equalizer customizable, the pic in the manual shows the bars at different heights, mine are all the same height and near the bottom, I have tried to move the bars individually but nothing happens. No great hassle as sounds very good as it is :D

Hi Salt,
That's great. We are trying to update our youtube videos which you can view at youtube.com/digoptions. Little guides to doing things which i hope will help. About the equaliser, unfortunately it's not yet programmed properly so will hopefully be available as a firmware update in the near future. Cheers, Matt

Sort of off topic / on topic. :D The success you guys had in this thread empowered me to contact Matt and see if they had systems suitable for my wife's new Outlander, which he did. Result, happy wife and me with a big head thinking I'm pretty damn good! Thanks Guys and Matt.

Cheers,

Obviously I have touched the button and turned the lights green by mistake

Another small issue I am having with this unit (not the unit really I think) is the OZI explorer map is upside down.. :?:

You head north up the beach and all is good, turn around and head south and the map names and places are up side down.... :?:

I have had a little play around but can't solve it.

Anyone else got upside down OZI Explorer :?: :?:

I had trouble getting the Tri to drive home after Fraser Is....

Just passing on a message...
Matt at DIG has a genuine factory shroud (Just the hood shroud, not the face plate) he's wanting to get rid of cheap, as new, which he got in to look at.
As it's not in the sale section, as it's not a sale on here, I won't put more info here, but PM me and I'll forward the details he sent me.
Cheers

Dont know the sort of maps you have but my Hema maps are scanned versions of the original Government ones so names do not turn as the map rotates. I always set mine as North upwards. You get used to it. Gives you a perspective as to were North is all the time

Installing Double DIN radio (Digoptions) in MN GLX-R

Postby irwazza on Fri Aug 12, 2011 2:05 pm

Hey Guys

I'm looking at buying one of these units. What is the sound quality like on them? Comparable to a brand name unit? Also how many watts do they put out per speaker?

Hi Guys not sure if this would be the place to ask or not i have been looking around for quite some time, trolling forms researching and such but have had no luck. im looking at upping my sound system in my 2010 mn triton glx-r and would love to keep the steering wheel controls working i am thinking about getting a eclipse cd3050 as it has everything built in and can get it at a good price, I have had similar units in my previous cars but the only thing stopping me at the moment is the tie-in for the steering wheel controls,

Has anyone been able to retain their controls? if so are you able to point in me in right direction ?

Your help would be muchly appreciated

Cheers -Shane

Digoptions is definitely not "upping"
Sound quality is sub par to OEM the sound is more "muddy" and receiver is less sensitive to RF signal
OEM unit had good signal in CBD with antenna retracted. With digoptions antenna needs to be out half way to get clear reception. I bought it because of it's multifunction features and to tie me over till I can get a DAB+ unit with reverse camera.

Mowie: This unit has never been about top end sound. I think I've said before that it ain't Bose and you don't pay Bose prices. What it is, is a good value , multifunction unit that comes from a supplier who doesn't forget you once your payment clears. It is an improvement on the pathetic sound system that came as standard with MY08 and earlier. MY09 saw the introduction of a much better quality system from the factory. The shortcomings of the radio and amplifier in this double din unit have been made clear from the start and the supplier has been working with the factory to improve these aspects with results on the board already and more to come.

Diddy, this might not be so interesting if you'd read the thread through. At any rate, the thread that concerns you is:
http://www.newhilux.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5734

As far as steeering wheelcontrols on the Triton are concerned, the development is pretty much outlined on Page 3 of this thread. Don't believe they're quite ready for mass production yet but a PM to Rocko will probably get you the information you need

Ok. So there is 2 different opinions on the sound quality. So what is it? an upgrade from factory or a downgrade? Only looking at sound quality.

2010 MN GLXr downgrade
2008 ml upgrade
That's how I read Chris's post and my comparison.

A man of few words is gregned, but yes, IMO that's pretty much it although I can't say I've really listened to the GL-R system. Certainly pre-MY09 the standard system was a bit ordinary (less than 15 watts/channel and crappy paper cone speakers). The later systems looked identical but had a badge under the head unit and an amplifier under the passenger seat.
