Hard Tonneau Cover Problem

Postby bseymore on Fri Jul 25, 2008 11:05 pm

There is a rubber strip on the front of my Tonneau cover that appears to have the job of covering the spring. I only have one on the left hand side. This one flaps like a bitch when I get to 100LKM/hour. I went to the stealer yesterday and all the ones on the showroom have them on both sides. The stealer said he didn't know why there was only one on mine and what they actually were for. Has anyone had a similar problem?

The flaps are there to stop water etc. from getting into the hinge and seizing the removable pin (should you ever want to remove your cover). There should be one on either side over each hinge.

I've never noticed mine flapping at speed (they probably do but don't make a noise)

Cheers
Andrew

I have only one flap on the passenger side as well. I am sure there was two initially, and I have assumed one has fallen off soemwhere along the way.

I haven't noticed any flapping noise at highway speed, I imagine my tyre noise would drown it out.
