Reading on MAL's website, same gear ratios for auto/manual petrol and diesel. people with petrols, does your engine turn over between 2000 and 2200 at 100 km/h?

This is out of the Service manual, don't know whether they are the same gearbox with a different designation or not but the model No's are different.

I think the auto's sit on 2000rpm @ 100km/h
Mine sits on 2200rpm@ 100km/h. Where's the six speed???

On paper they appear the same - same ratios for each gear, the difference that the DI-D drives a diff at 4.1:1 while the V6 has a 4.3:1 diff to offset the small torque difference. The GLX has a higher ratio (numerically). Probably are some minor variations in the gearbox but I'd suggest that each box would bolt on to any DI-D, 6G72 or 6G74 engine.

My V6 revs a bit higher in 5th at 100km/h, because of the final drive ratio but lower than the NM Pajero or MK Triton and way lower than the old NH Pajero.

The GLS Manual DID has a shorter (higher number)diff ratio than the GLX-R. I have no idea why?

With stock tyres, 100km/h = 2,400 rpm
With 265/70 tyres, 100km/h = approx 2,200 rpm

Ahhhh, the diff, ofcourse... hey, does that mean I can get a different diff so I can cruise at 110 at 1,500 RMP?

I thought the GLS only came in auto. Strange. On mine, stock tyres the RPM was 2,200, now with 235/85/16 it's 2,100 (both GPS speed).

Only offered in auto now. Only came out in maual because they hadn't finished developing the auto.
