That sounds like premature ware to me. Does it slip when going up hills?

Frdesp, you machine fly wheels out of old clutches?

Spraker - mine had a new clutch & pressure plate etc @ 17,000km - clutch slipped & 'turned into smoke', while in low first/reverse, trying to save the vehicle from where it was at the time...........

Long story, but the clutch did let go, & was replaced by insurance company...........

the only sort of problem i have had with mine is if you give it a boot full pulling out around a corner, it slips for a second then thats all. not enough to bother me.

Geeez HC, you got yourself a real lemon didn't you?! :?

But on the bright side, look at the magical sorts of things you can do in a Hilux...

One wonders how this is possible... looks like this was in NZ too.

That's a great one Nathan, I like the audi RS4 cut in half the guy walked away from.

Spraker, that sound like judder from the drive, not clutch slip. Someone else posted a video of the vibrations of the centre bearing (i think).

Mitsi replaced clutch today under warranty, report says that the fingers on the pressure plate were worn uneven so they machined the fly wheel and put in a replacement clutch kit. No cost to me, they were thinking that I may have to pay because it may have been driver error, I told them to get stuffed and I would not pay a cent as the vehicle is 7 mths old and only done 20ks.

Well done Spraker, there's no way I'd be paying for a clutch at 20K.

Too true Jits (except those whom use the clutch pedal as a foot rest) and I am naming no-one specifically (but a certain handbrake should be driving automatics only)

Nathan - was'nt a vehicle fault - was just one of those things that happen sometimes when all the stars align themselves in the wrong way (sorta a bit like getting outa bed & kicking a black cat up the ar$e first thing in the morning, & then 'paying' for it all day long with 'dramas'........)

Yeah, that Lux photo is here in Un Zed - lots of things are possible to us Kiwis - 'special' driving, winning rugby games, etc etc............ :D :D
Tip # 1 - Avoid stress & grief & low resale values with vehicles - do it once - do it right, buy a HILUX!!
