Squeaky belts

Postby Austblue on Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:03 pm

Anyone else suffer from recurring squeaky belts? I had my car serviced by mits at 30k and it came back squeaky so I told my mechanic and he fixed it at the 45k but it came back again! Its really noisy especially when cold and combined with my bloody suspension squeak I feel like I'm powered by mice!

Was it the UK L200 that had squeaky belts or fans that were hitting their mounts because of some major problem?

AB as a temp fix, try holding a cake of soap for a few seconds against the offending belt while the engine is running - should quieten the squeak for a little while 8-)

Cheers
