V5MT1 transmission Input Shaft Bearing noisy

Postby Portions_MK on Mon Apr 14, 2014 9:30 pm

Need to change out my input shaft bearing and wondering if it'll be a mission or not. How much of the tranny do I need to pull apart (if any) to change it out on an MK with 3.0l. Should I just change the input or is it better to do the lot?? Would it be worth my while doing a rebuild whilst I'm there? Or is there a set few bearings which are more prone to failure which would be cheaper than a whole rebuild?
If I was to go to a tranny mechanic what would I be looking to pay to get them to do change the input bearing or a whole rebuild(don't wanna get ripped)?

Any info would be great.
