Agree with Coughy. I've fitted one of these to my Challenger and it was a little difficult to slide the hose over the pipe but that's the way you need to do it. Can't assemble hoses and pipes and then expect to just slot them in like you would a soft hose.

Well after my misadventure blowing the inter cooler pipe I have spend some hard earned on this ...

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4x4-Triton-intercooler-piping-kit-2-5L-2006-Kit-Turbo-Diesel-MN-ML-hard-pipe-/291827644921?hash=item43f24879f9

Is this the one others have brought and what is the general opinion out there on it...

Pat... :D

The angle on the turbo outlet. I had to get a pipe custom made locally.

Hey guys quick market research question...

What do you think the demand for a direct replacement, high performance (proven), top quality intercooler and pipe kit would be for the MN?

Would I get 10, 20, 50 people on here interested?

Will have a kit for the MQ later on too.

Like I said, research at this stage.

Cheers,

You might struggle a bit here as I'm aware one of our forum sponsors is on the cusp of releasing just such a product.

Well 30 min and both pipes were in and looking sexy, a quick 250k drive and im happy..the fit was excellent and the product quality looked good bar the drilling dags left in the welded lug for a boost gauge, 10 seconds scraping and they were gone. The position for the boost gauge is a lil odd being at the bottom, im guessing it will collect oil.

best 200 bucks i reckon I have spent on my Triton yet.

The one thing wrong with this kit is the quality of hose clamps. Replace them with high quality ones or the pipes with continually blow off. Ask me how I know...

You're assuming that the clamps sold remained the same quality across that period. Longranger had previously demonstrated a fair degree of mechanical aptitude (in my view at least) so I wouldn't rush to discount his opinion.

Plazaman does a piping kit that suits both style MN outlets. They will email you when you purchase it asking to send them a photo of your turbo outlet when you buy it so they provide you with the right kit unlike the crap generic ones that say they fit when they don't.

I purchased one of the e bay kits and it fits my mn 2013 model great the only problem was removing the rubber hose from the intercooler from the turbo side. and when the ecu upgrade was done the boost guage was connected to the pipe which was at the top not at the bottom of the inlet pipe
great kit for the price

I'm happy that it all works for you. As I said the hose clamps I was supplied with were pretty ordinary and yes, I kind of know good quality hose clamps from the lesser quality (being kind here) ones. The hose clamps shown in another suppliers photos on this forum (still in development/production stage I believe) were the real deal. Should have waited :| but the rest of the kit was ok.

Still bloody good value....

Pat.

Yeah I think it went up as they added the 3rd hose that runs behind the grill. Can't complain about the price considering mits wanted $194 for the genuine single hose

I did the same hose on my mn and mitsi wanted almost $400 for a new one.

Did the same and bought full kit for mine from Plazmaman, great kit and been fitted since Easter.

Hi guys,
Unless I am missing something, plazmaman is charging $1325 for the kit and forefront industries is charging $578 for the kit for a mn. So why go plazmaman ?

Forefront industries intercooler is $329,

The hose kit is $249
https://www.forefrontindustries.com.au/ ... ntercooler

Still alot cheaper than $1325 from plazmaman
