Anyone had one of these or used them I can see the point but cant see the benefit if its just a compressing pipe?

There is a lot of talk about them at the moment because a lot of guys have had issues with pipes splitting. I myself have had issues blowing my pipe off the intercooler.

That and it looks freaking cool!!!! I'll be getting it and the intercooler soon.

ag9111 (Garth), has just bought one of these kits.

He'll let us know how it all went. I'm sure......

We had a look at it the other day when it arrived. Looks pretty schmick, better than the rubber for sure.

Has anyone asked if this kit would suit an ML? Like is there much difference with piping/hoses between the 3.2 and 2.5?

I'm thinking the same thing. Anyone know if Mn and ml standard pipes are interchangeable?

There is a difference in the angle of the turbo outlet.

When I was looking at upgrading my intercooler I went to HPC and looked at their offering. The 3.2 kit they had didn't fit. It would require either rotation of the comp housing or another bend.

I'm sure the issue would be the same going 2.5 to 3.2

Correct, and also those who hybridize 4M41 turbo will also find the outlet is different angle.

I have recently fitted one of those kits.
Fitted up easily no mucking around, looks good.

notice a change at all mate I was thinking the smooth pipes vs fins would give you a better throttle response?

It might be a slight improve it feels like it spools up slightly quicker ( i do have other mods fitted ), but i also fitted up one of there bar and plate all aluminum intercoolers. Intake air temps are slightly down by about 5 deg on average. I mainly fitted the new intake pipes to remove the chance of splitting a rubber hose.
All up it seems to be quality replacement parts.
Here is a link to the intercooler

I fitted the pipe kit yesterday on my PB Challenger. Went on OK and certainly looks the part. I doubt it has changed any driving characteristics but should have improved reliability (i.e. remove the risk of split pipes). My pipes were starting to slip and feeling a little soft so I took the precautionary option.

Aren't these called 'hot dog pipes' my understanding is there can be a lot of expansion on a good drive when temps start rising with standard pipes and obviously these don't expand, resulting in the air being more compressed on delivery??? Just what I heard....

I had the same issue when I fitted the kit up last week, my turbo to intercooler hose split so I grabbed this kit to replace the rubber ones, the aluminum pipe from the turbo to the intercooler is to long to drop in and slide the silicone joiners over, there'd be 2-3mm between the pipe and turbo outlet same on the other end.

I had to remove the grill, un-bolt the piped flange on the intercooler and feed all the silicone hose and pipe in as one piece, was a major PITA.
