ML LHS Inner C/V Moves up/Down

Postby Burke and on Mon Apr 22, 2019 3:16 pm

Hi all.

I've just pulled the LHS CV shaft out of the diff to replace the oil seal.

The problem I have is the Inner CV moves up and down when installed into the diff.

The bearing in the diff has no movmemt and the shaft shows no signs of wear......the axle gear has slight up/down movement....

I suspect the bushing inside the bearing has worn...... the bush doesn't appear on the parts breakdown from Mitsubishi...... it's inside the diff bearing and has spiral grooves to direct oil away from the seal.

I have no good way of measuring as I cannot get my verniers in and my bore gauges wont arrive until next week.

Has anyone else had experience with this issue.....

My next step will be to speak to Mitsubishi an probably pull the diff out.

Unless someone has any good info.

I have tried "search" but come up blank.

Many thanks, Kyle.
