Hesitation/bucking issue

Postby FreddyByTheSea on Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:32 pm

Hi All, another long time reader first time poster.

This forum has helped me out of a couple of issues in the past via the Forum Directory (fuel filter issue followed by the dreaded clogged inlet manifold).

I've now got another issue that the mechanic is a bit stuck on. I've got a 2010 GLS 4sp Auto that has issues at 80km/h. I wouldn't describe the issue as 'surging' more of a hesitation/bucking. Turning the overdrive off negates the problem somewhat, but it can still be felt.

No codes are showing up. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Fred

Has it been into a dealer recently?

There have been a few software updates over the years that have addressed driveability issues with the 4D56.

This is a hotline fix relating to the 4 speed auto 4D56 that sounds similar to the issues you're having, might be worth seeing if the latest software is installed in your vehicle

Thanks for the info.

No, it hasn't been to the dealer for a while after looking at the log book. It's done 140,000K so it might be worthwhile booking it in with Mitsubishi to get all the relevant updates! I'll check with the mechanic I've been using first to see if this is something they keep on top of.

Check Unis on tailshaft too, might be part of the issue.
