5 mechanics and mitsubishi cant solve this!!

Postby victriton341 on Thu Dec 10, 2020 6:25 pm

Guys so i got an issue that 5 mechanics and mitsubishi cant solve.

2014 MN Triton, Automatic 120,000kms
New timing belt
Egr and intake cleaned
New drive belt
No engine codes

It starts up fine and drives fine as long as i dont put my foot down too hard and can drive fine without issues all day. The second i plant my foot to overtake the issues start.

Crusing at 70-80kmh at 1400rpm it will start to shudder (maybe misfire). Above 1600rpm its fine.
When i come to a stop it idles fine but is very shake for about 5 seconds then idles normal. If i put it in neutral and back into drive it corrects itself and idles fine.

If in parked and increase the rpm you can feel a bit of a vibrate/shake at the same rpm.

Ita still got plenty of power, its good on fuel. The only trouble is this shudder at low rpm ONLY at 70-80kmh.

Im about to give up and need some help

Have they cleaned the intake?
I would guess they havent cleaned it fully, just what they can get to. That manifold has lots of areas where carbon will build up and not be able to be cleaned. I have cut a clean one open with a grinder and still got quite a bit of carbon out of it.

Have they put the SCV on an oscilloscope? Have they scoped the EGR valve? either of these items will cause running problems.

Have they had a look at the fuel? Or fuel supply?

are you losing coolant?

have you ever put petrol in by mistake?

The old Speed shop I used to use was a big fan of the Dyno to solve problems. Can cost a little more but often solves problems the first time.

Was the problem there before that work was done or did it only start afterwards?

Throttle body and/or egr getting out of synch.
The voices in my head may not be real, but they do have some damned good ideas.

If it's feral, it's in peril.

MN turbo lag? What lag??

99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.
