Lengthy time to dis-engage from 4h-2h

Postby warnzie on Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:50 pm

Anyone noticed this...i have an 09 VR DID and have notcied that going from 2h - 4h it engages almost instantly, but when going from 4h - 2h it takes anywhere from 6 - 12secs? Worst part about it you will be driving in the wet and have it in 4h and change back into 2h just around the corner of your street and by the time you get into your garage the system is still blinking? Am i the only one?

No, i get the same sometimes.
I'm not sure why but i had a 2002 challenger that used to do the same thing.

Doesn't it say on the door (instruction) to leave the clutch in till it disengages?

i have an auto and it all happens very quickly (just a second or two, just got to take my foot off the loud pedal)

Do you back off the throttle at all warnzie? that can often help the disengagement, as can reversing a few metres

I also had a 2001 Challenger that did this, however my VR takes about 3-4 sec.

mine only takes it's time when I'm moving very slow. but disengagement at speed is instant...

maybe just needs to get rid of the windup before it comes out...
