Yeah. And nah. Was hoping to stick it somewhere near the air filter box. Might have another look see and see if I can wangle something out of the way...

Had my last cheapy china can mounted on the free mount top corner of the Air Filter box, going to do the same with my new 2.5 rig, but I have bought a Billet Can from the US that looks to have a different mount bracket than the Provent!

Hi Guys,

So today my new Provent arrived, and I am going to fit it shortly, but I am struggling to find the exact info I need.

I know the Provent has 1 inch nipples, but can someone tell me what the other end is?

I need to get some tubing and I want to know exactly what I have to get to make it fit. :)

What size engine mongrel?

I mangaged to get a 1" 90deg barb into my air intake so i used a 1" from my provent out to intake in. then you will need a reducer to go 1" to 3/4" or 19mm. So if you go to pertek or somewhere similar they will have a 25mm to 19mm brass reducer barbed. They look good and have better flow. I blew through all mine with a used filter media and there was no restriction.

I thought it was 16mm or 5/8 but it's been a while. It's been covered maybe a dozen times but I'm on my phone so won't be searching it out. Try searching 16mm and see if it shows up.

16mm it is, and then a 1 inch that the 16mm will fit into. :)

Yep the mn is 16mm or 5/8, fitted my billet can today and reduced my hose down to 1/2 as that's the fittings and hose that came with it! My old ml was bigger over 20mm I recon !

So I installed my new Provent today and ended up putting it over on the Turbo side of the engine bay.

I discovered that mounting it over the right hand side, oil would trickle back toward the engine and leach out all over the block. :( This is because of the uphill route of the tubing.

So now it's mounted to behind the air box, and its all downhill from the breather to the Provent.

I have to find some decent way to reduce down from 1 inch to 5/8th, but for now I have pushed the 5/8th into the Provent's nipples. It's a bloody tight fit, so it will do for now.

I also ran the drain down near the front wheel and crimped with a cable tie. :)

Job done!

Any pics on how it's mounted mongrel ? I was going to stick mine ther but can't work out how to get it in. Concerns about heat from the turbo

Yep here ya go.

So I ad the same trouble - how to mount it!! So Basically sat it behind the air box, so I could get a length on piping etc, and realised that it would not take much to hold it there, as the pressure on the piping did a good job.

I simply zip tied it in place. It's solid as, and after a 45 minute drive, there was no heat from the Turbo that would be a problem.

Sorry i didnt get back to you earlier mongrel. Yeah its 16mm and 1 inch. I used a 1 inch 90 degree bend on the outlet it works well i will take photos later for you.

It basically sits there under it's won steam, and then there is tie over the back holding it to the steel lines. :)

Not even tight. Just enough to stop it flapping about!

The brake lines? They were one of the reasons I ended up avoiding that position. I am way paranoid about brakes (mainly because I know mechanically I am an idiot and likely to bugger something up) so I just stay right away from them :oops: :oops:

Nah!! It just sits there mate. There is no force being applied. I didn't even really need the zip ties as the hose actually holds it there, but I put one in for good measure. :D

Mate, I would not be attaching anything to the brake lines. Metal has a funny way of fatiguing, the only way to see the current condition of metal is with an x-ray machine.

The engine vibrates, that vibration will be transferred to the catch via the hoses. The brake lines will then vibrate and fatigue over time. You can watch them and look at them all you like. You will have no way of the condition of the metal.
