paj was originally a v6 gls auto running 4.6 diffs. Has a no limit chip and 265/75/16 k02's, larger intercooler, plus a few other alterations.

Selwn, you may remember the NJ 3.2 i did was a motor/trany i picked up from you and goes much better than the NL auto, (manual, 4.9 diffs same size tyres)

Cheers,

Snakesoup, ive had this reqest from vic paj forum as well.. I started a writeup then sidetracked, as i mentioned this is the second one i did, the son has the NJ now. I did take plenty of pics and notes throughout the conversion. If you don't see anything come through in the next few days, just remind me.

GM figured it was you
only thing I can think of would be it should be way overgeared now with the 4,9 ratio and the auto gearbox and 32" tyres

it is seeing revs much quicker, but maybe that does not compute with the ECU expectation in terms of speed shift point and getting confused?

if you like that combination of gears, maybe try and fool the speedo, need a gear change on the speedo/ odo output (sensor)

I know that the speed and odo readings are taken from the driveline on the triton as the diff ratio change stuffed up my speedo- not 100% sure where though

something to look at?

Just getting rid of the last few bits of an 09 mn glr 4x4 auto I'm wrecking and i have a question. Should i bother keeping the transfer off the auto? I have a 12 mn glx manual 4x4, are the transfers the same/interchangeable?

Hey Guys, I've got a 2015 MN Auto 4 speed and have just done the Gibb River and Kalumburu Rds. On the way home we've noticed its dropping into third gear quite jolty if that makes sense? As in when it goes from 2nd to 3rd it's rough enough for us to obviously feel it and our heads move forwards. Any ideas? Only got 26,000kms on it. Cheers

How is the fluid.... Did you do some deep water crossings..... My Jeep displayed similar behavior after I got stuck in The Nolan's Brook..... Transmission had filled up with water......

I live in Kununurra so it's a 1600km round trip to the closest mitsi dealer. I'll ring them in the morning and maybe they'll let me take it to one of the local mechanics. I had a squiz at the oil and it appears normal but I could try draining and replacing.

Anyone had an issue with sports auto not working? I've searched and can't find anything.

The dash gear indicator on my 2013 GLX shows P, N, R but no D or specific gears. Sports auto does nothing - no gear changes and no dash indicator.

Don't know if it's related, but the 4wd indicator doesn't light up either. I've got some deep sand on Fraser to say that 4wd engages fine, it just doesn't like talking about it...

Nfi. Done any wiring lately? Checked fuses inside and under hood? The auto ecu is mounted vertically above where the clutch pedal would go, check that for loose wires?

Has anyone serviced the ML Triton 4 speed auto, 3.2? The oil pan is leaking on mine, got to pull it off and reseal it, is there a filter to replace while the pan is off? What is the refill capacity? Can only find dry capacity at 9.7L

hay can anyone probly not much but can u show me your software on your auto ecu??? as mine is really old and this is a picky from a new pc challenger 2015 build and he is getting great figures from the auto and towing stock as in fuel consumption

mine is really old and is realy crap im wondering is the software makes a difference
i know that they have fixed the down hill run away when in 1st low to a higher rpm level
cause it would fault and change up to 2nd when going down hill gggrrr dangerous like mine does now
so im looking at going to the stealers to upgrade the auto ecu to fix this and hopefully make the lazy little trollop of a trany work better

edit
the first picky is my current software way out of date

Hi Coughy
Where did you get access to the print out of your ECU. I have a 2015 auto GLX-R ute with transmission lock up switch. Do you think the upgrade from the stealers would help the standard lock up positions in the tranny?
Cheers

Keep in mind that the part numbers for the two auto ecus are different so the software numbers may be from completely different sequences.

Hey Coughy, just kicking this along again, did you get an update on the auto ecu, and if so did it make much difference? I am now considering getting a nomad valve body fitted supplied from Wholesale Automatics and hopefully this might help this useless gearbox ecu.

Don't know much about the auto box. Was reading in a forum where someone intending to keep their vehicle a long time has fitted an external / inline filter. They were suggesting it was a good preventative measure much like fitting a secondary finer fuel filter.
What do people think? Pros / cons?

I'd be concerned about causing resistance to the fluid flow and what would could happen if the filter ever did clag up.

There are magnets in the tranny sump, so the stuff (steel particles) that would cause any issues, are pulled out of the fluid.

Keeping the unit from cooking would be more important.
