Ok hi fellas I have a inner Lhs split cv boot...
how do I go about replacing it remove the cv of course
and remove the boot can you get replacements??

You should be able to get replacement boots without too much hassle. You don't have to remove the CV from the diff housing to replace the boot, just the retaining clip that holds the inner bearings in place (easy to find and remove with a flat-head screwdriver). Once that is out, the whole bearing assembly on the CV shaft will slide out of the cup, and you'll be able to clean it up and remove the circlip to get the bearings off the spline. Swap the boots over and replace everything as you pulled it apart, job done. :D

Thanks frazz what about the steel band clamp? That holds the boot in place

The steel band clamp can be reused from memory, but it wouldn't hurt to get a pair of new ones when you get the new boot. ;)

Done fraz..used a crap and do not recommended Repco universal 30$ boot kit
other than that one
is there an alternative to the139$ genuine one...seing a complete REPCO cv shaft is 200$

I think we picked up the bursons ones for about $180

if you flick back to about page 4 there it a comparison on the boots
but no options

has anyone used Sydney drive shafts for a replacement CV on the triton yet? whilst i haven't had to replace one on my ML yet, they have been very well priced on all the other cars i have replaced them on.

Thanks moos And I carnt work out y genuine parts are so overpriced, at a buisness point of view ,,they leave lots of room for the aftermarket guys to under cut by 500%,,, inc the wreckers hmm maybee a good thing,,..??

Was in touch with a fellow today who can supply good quallity cv shafts from Japan as good as the Mitsubishi ones for a fraction of the cost..
He is sending hd inner boots for 20$ there magna boots...exact coppy..fancy that...

Hi guys, I got a price for a pair of shafts ( drivers and passanger side, minus the abs ring) from a company in sydney for $280 Plus delivery. I'm just awaiting to find out if they are reco or brand new. Once I know for sure il post up the contact details.
