Would be helpful if you can look at the manual gearbox as well. I could only find one breather fwd of the gearlevers. Assume it is for the gearbox. Couldn't find one for the transfer.
We assumed that the auto does not have a breather as it is open to atmosphere throught the dipstick

this is the ml box.. the big hole you can see on the left is where the gear sticks bolt. so through your hole in the floor you can see the one way valve/breather and the vac hose that goes to the gearboot.. i suggest extending both of them as the ml box had water in it when i pulled it down... also a nice leak as you can see ;)

Was the one way valve tapped into the gearbox or was it jammed in like the diff breather on the MN diff

Anyone know anything about Breathers on a 2006 MK GLX Turbo Diesel manual Titon. The last of the old shape. The rear diff appears exactly the same but the front just has sopme sort of cap for a breather. I don't know about the gearbox etc as I have not lifted the centre cover as yet.

So in doing my breather install now on an ml manual. This is what I got under the gear levers,

Am I right in saying the pipe on the right that goes into the 4wd shifter is what I should be venting for gearbox and slip another into the boot for transfer?
