Hey blokes
I reckon the VR Triton I picked up a couple of days ago is the most pleasing bloody dual cab 4WD I have ever hopped in. The seats are a bit hard, but the grunt is great, the turning circle is brilliant, plenty of decent technology without overdoing the electrics, great around town considering what it is capable of in the bush.
My only major whinge VR-wise is Mitsubushi downgraded the steering wheel and knobs to GLX standard, and having driven the GLX-R - the plastic piece of crap wheel is really uncomfortable in comparison. For some reason I keep getting my finger stuck in the bottom spoke when doing the old under/over steering - it's just a crappy way to direct the vehicle where to go ! Plus I risk breaking my all important middle 'signalling' finger (sadly that's all it gets used for these days )
Anyway I rang the stealer parts dept to see if I could buy the GLX-R wheel as parts, and they estimated $1,000 !!! Wonder how that big round thing will fit up their ar*e ? !!
So I bought a $3.99 super cheap steering wheel cover for now which feels marginally less crappy than the plastic thing. Anyone got any ideas for a better replacement ? There were plenty of flasher and more comfortable wheel covers at SuperCheap but none of them are going to look like they really belong
I have been meaning to work out if the external ring unscrews from behind (which would contradict the stealer who claimed all sorts of spoke replacement issues, having backed down on airbag replacement which sounded a bit wrong to me)
Wheely interested to hear your thoughts ...
