^^^ What he said.

Also depends on what motor the patrol is running. (3.0TD/4.2TD,4.5P/4.8P). If it's the 4.2, you'll never get the same sound. More cylinders makes for a throatier sound.

Factory race pipe.

You need to ditch the airbox, run a 90 degree steel or alloy bend right off the turbo with a big pod filter.

Then it will dose big time.

Kinda stupid on a 4x4 though, water and dust would be a massive problem then.

There is already a three inch rod in your car. You'll keep. Teach me to whip up an answer without proof reading.

I think you would need to somehow incorporate the mass airflow sensor or it wont run.

Yeah, not real practical though. :|

They seem to run OK with the maf removed. Try it some day.

The ricers move the maf and fit it between the TB and the I/C for full on dose (turbo flutter)

Always said turbo flutter (dose) sounds like a pigeon with its head stuck in a pod filter.

All we need to find now is a pic of a billy goat with a pod filter on his snout. Then we'll have the V6's covered.

With the MAF, I found that if you pull the connection pipe from the intercooler off the throttle body the engine will cut out at idle. Found this out when I was looking at the throttle valve.

My bad  . It will start with the MAF sensor disconnected though.
