how to stop front flares coming off

Postby Stu on Mon Jul 21, 2008 3:51 am

every time I do a water crossing my front flares pop most of the clips out of the guards. Anyone got any suggestions on how to stop this happening?

You might need to replace the clips they do wear out after a while.
I'm guessing they were taken off origianlly to fit the bullbar and snorkel maybe they were slighly damaged from then and now don't click in properly and each time you do a water crossing and they come off they get worse.

I was told by a good panel beater that to get an original and good fit on any body part or dash all clips should be replaced each time they are taken off.

I used body molding adhesive from Auto Barn, it comes in a tube like silicone and costs $20, takes an hour or so to dry in completely

You wouldn't considering running a bead of glue instead of relying on the small clips. Just take the whole guard off run even a nice bead of silicon then clip it back on.

New clips are the go, when I got mine back from having the bullbar fitted all bar 2 of them were broken, got some from supercheap and I cant see it ever coming off without breaking all of the new clips, when they fit right there are super tight
