Not that I've noticed, have read a few threads on here that they have been known to make a noise,

Mine is, doesn't matter how much restriction l put into the boost line, still flutters away, although much improved from original install.

I heard if you pack the insides with HD foam, cotton wool etc it attenuates the noise

Don't think I would have noticed it if you didn't mention it last night though :(

Guys

Just wondering for those who have fitted these pods how well yours have fitted? I started wiring up my gauges today and made the mistake of not checking the pod fitment before starting.
I ended up drilling some holes in the factory cover as there was no room between the pillar and side of dash so will have to go through the cover and run with all the factory wires etc which is fine.
When I finally got it all done and started to try fit the pod pillar I ccouldn't believe how tight a fit it was to make it cover the factory cover. I basically had to twist it and flatten it a bit to get it to cover the factory cover which makes it a very tight fit. Also the tabs on the bottom of it only fit down behind the dash if I leave the factory cover tabs out of the bracket down the side of the dash and then it barely fits and doesn't cover a section closes to the windscreen and dash. If I cover the top of the cover so its flush up top were it meets the roof the pod pillar sits up about an inch from the bottom of the factory one and then the tabs wont go in the dash anyway....

Basically I'm just after other peoples experience with the ones they have installed? I would rate mine so far as very averge but not sure if there all like that? I've messaged the seller and also called and left a message but so far no call back.

Mick,

The two i have witnessed being installed, after going through the whole process of thinking they would just swap out (they don't) ended up employing a saw to cut off the bottom third of the OEM pillar panel. Then gluing the new pod mount over the top two thirds of the OEM. This allows you to use the OEM positioning via the clips but does not make the bottom too busy for the gauge wiring etc.
This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.

Yeh I was starting to think I might have to do something like that which is rubbish. Pretty average really when they say it's a direct fit and quality guaranteed.

Yeah they're not great but if you follow the method mentioned above it works out okay.

It could be worse. I got an ML pod instead of MN. Returned it for a swap and never heard from them again. I reckon I'd rather have a crap product for my money than no product and no money. :(

I'm actually thinking of grafting a twin pod on top of the steering column. They may them for all sorts of cars to fit on there, just no tritons that I've seen. So either I buy one designed for another car or a universal one and make it fit, or I grab one intended for a dash install and whack that in there.

I say grafting but knowing my past efforts it will either be stuck on with double sided tape or there will be a few wraps of black gaffa tape around the whole lot.

Not sure which model you have mickl. I did not have those issues with my ML

I did have to drill a hole in the bottom of the factory trim for the wires but that was ok by me. The top lined up pretty well & the bottom clips fitted although were a tight fit.

Thanks mate. I was hoping to get something that fitted easily but mine definitely doesn't! Its almost like its an inch too short. I'm sure I can work something out but was hoping not to have to go cutting things up...

Just wanted to know if anyone has ever fitted one of the SAAS Pillar Pods. They seem a lot less shallower.
I fitted my 3 gauge pod last week to then find out that it was too obstructive with the top gauge. I'm now going to change it over to a 2 gauge pillar pod (airbag) however I'm just not certain on which one to choose.
