ipod connection

Postby Zav78 on Fri Oct 25, 2013 10:39 am

Hi all,
I have a 2013 MN GLX-R and just wanted to know if anyone has trouble with playing an Ipod from the USB plug in the glove box. It plays my Iphone 5 but when I plug in my Ipod classic it wont load it. I read in the manual that it does or should play the Ipod classic and it is one if the newer ones with the latest update installed on it.

I just want to know if anyone knows if it should be able to play an Ipod classic or is it worth taking back to Mitsu and ask them.

I know it seems like a trivial question.

Do you have another 30 pin cable you can test? One of my iPod classics had a dodgy 30 pin connector and that caused problems for me - different head unit though.

I have tried 2 different ones both with the same effect. One is genuine Apple and the other a Belkin.

It might have something to do with the model generation of ipod. A lot of new stereos will not recognize ipods that are older than Gen 5. You might have to use the AUX inputs in the centre console.
This is the best bad idea I have

I also have issues with my ipod classic and my 13 glxr, it takes aggggeeess to load. Maybe is the amount of songs on it that causes it grief? I just plug it in to the RCA jacks when I want to listen to it.

ipod mini, no worries.

The mrs's 3 year old lancer plays the ipod classic no worries.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have just started using the aux plugs as I still couldn't get it to work.
