Removing the muffler is not illegal, as long as it remains under the 90dB limit and exits passed the rear diff on the Triton ;)

Maybe in your state mate. Here an exhaust system must have the same number of cats and mufflers as supplied by the OEM. It must also remain below 90db at WOT.

I think what scares most
Is that god forbid if you have a accident and some non legal mod is noted...that this turns out as an excuse for them to walk away and not pay out...

I didn't say unroadworthy...I think your wrong there..( I'm being very optimistic here) .most of the cars on the road are unmodified...
I'm talking about unapproved/un engineered mods....
Modifications not approved by the rta..and as a result the insurance company's..
Especially obvious ones like tyres and exhaust...
Exept for my egr block shhhh my truck is within all legal perimeters...like most others on the road I hope...

I added my muffler delete pipe the other day and the sound is great.

Apart from that it is crap. My EGT's have gone up about 70 degrees and my seat of the pants feel is telling me it is down on top end power, and has increased lag.

I do not recommend on the MN's

Time to bolt the old muffler back on I think

Must have something to do with back pressure and the tune in running.

I thought if anything the EGT's would go down. Not up :(

No loss in boost or increase in EGTs on my MN.
If anything, the EGTs are cooler on the highway.

Something hinky going on. Usually at cruise 110 it's sits around 375. Same section of rd and today it's around 450, and boost was down about 2psi compared to normal.

It's def picked up a little lag, and seems to top out a little quicker.

Will wack the std muffler back on tomorrow and make sure something else ain't going on.

Good idea. I put my muffler back in for service, and left it there for a week. The EGTs went up slightly, but otherwise no real difference - except for noise.

Did you leave any polystyrene packaging inside the delete pipe like the snorkel install drama
Sorry mate, couldn't resist
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.
