If its the petto, you can't run a delete as it will be too loud. Best bet would be to get a high flow muffler fitted.

^^ Petto ?

Mitch, as above, not a very good idea.

Depending on what you want to achieve, there are several options available to you, some are discussed here;

Cut it out, worst case if you don't like it get it put back on, or go a cheap bolt on system like xforce etc.

Jst unbolt it for a bit lol ...you will lose back pressure and it will take forever for the revs to drop down when coming off throttle...

The first part was original manifolds and 2 1/2" from the flexy join next to the gearbox, free flow muffler and hot dog, no change in economy.

The extractors made the fuel economy a touch worse, around 0.3 - 0.4 L per hundred more fuel used, sounded a lot better though, more of a grunty sound to the engine ;) Touch more power as well, I could feel the difference, especially 3000 - 4000 rpm.... 8-)

yep plenty have.

with the turbo and cat it sounds pretty good. little noisy but i don't think it is too dramatic. 8-)
This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.

People have discussed removing mufflers and installing resonators/hotdogs to calm down the drone but still give a nice bark! Can anyone share what brand they have purchased and how much they expect to pay and if it's an easy DIY job :)
Cheers fos :D

Haha, that sounds loud? How is the actual exhaust noise? Whilst revving? And what revs was that going to?

Cheers

I just unbolted mine......... Nice. Feels like once the turbo spools up at around the same RPM you then accelerate a lot quicker! I'll order a pipe section off ebay for sure :)

I made a muffler delete side pipe from 2.5 stainless. Sounded better but fuel economy increased by 1l/100km. !!

yeah gets alot louder once the turbo spools up, im guessing it has to do with the vgt once all its at full boost the turbo opens up... kinda sounds like a external gate opening but no where near as loud

think ill get mine made into a side pipe to exist just in front of the rear wheel

I thought having it there might be abit too close to the rear doors and interferes with rock sliders! What's the advantage for side exit rather then out the back? Does it just allow the exhaust to be more vocal?

I thought it had to come out a certain distance back from the nearest opening window?

Sure it's illegal in most states, I know in NSW it must be at least 30cm back from the last opening window and with a GLX-R you have no choice but over the diff.

No advantage really imo

Don't think it matters too much in this case as removing the muffler is illegal anyway
