High-lift jack wheel adapter......anyone use them?

High-lift jack wheel adapter......anyone use them?

Saw these on ebay, and caught my interest.

An adapter for your high-lift jack that hooks onto rim spokes as the point of contact with your rig. Possibly a bit easier to reach in some situations, especially on rigs with side skirts & alloy steps, etc. But because you're jacking the wheel, not the chassis, you'd have suspension sag working against you, and possibly making the job a lot more dangerous. Not to mention the possibility the adapter might scar your rims. Not sure I see these being useful at all.

WOW that is pretty expensive. My mate has one, and I am pretty sure he didnt pay that much.

On my old rig, I just fed a bit of chain around 2-3 spokes and used a D shackle to secure to the highlift tongue. Worked well - but I was running steel rims with a decent gap between rear drum and inside of rim lip.

Not too sure if this would work on the Triton as I am not sure of rim clearances with the brakes.

As for actually using this method. As with anything to do with the highlift, its a bit 'shady'.
If the highlift tilts to one side, the wheel will spin and sometimes its enough to cause the wheel to spin away and shifting the vehicle and highlift towards things like your face.

Rear was a bit safer with the handbrake, but found the front was always unsteady. Having a locker helped.
