Not sure if it would be possible to make it in one piece, there are alot of bends to try and do.
Also you would have to take the whole lot off when you were doing or getting the services done and i think it would be a pain in the arse to try a fit for a single person.
It is hard enough trying to get the service guys to refit just the small sump guard properly, I know if it was both guards in one big piece they would stuff it up for sure and strip threads as they have done to a few guys on here with just the samll sump guard.

hey buzzy what did u do with the plastic plate that hangs down off the radiator , im guessing its to stop air flowing underneath the rad so that it has more chance to flow through the rad
did u just trim it or make another one to suit ??

cheers Dylan

I got the prototype front plate from Buzzy. There was no way of keeping it on the car as it fouls the plate badly so it's sits hidden in my shed somewhere. No adverse affects to cooling though. ;)
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal labotomy!

It ain't pretty being easy!!

cool thanks greedy , was wondering about the slots in the trans cover aswell
for cooling i guess
do u think that the new ones should have something to let some air in there
oh unless if u dont put that plastic cover on and the air flows through to the trans

its ok i just havn conversation with myself hahaha usually only happens after a few brews

I made one for the hilux, all one piece 3mm steel plate, welded each section together. I used the rear half of the TJM bashplate, and modified the brackets on the hilux, to suit the angle I wanted for the new bashplate.

These are the 2 brackets either side that get in the way between front and rear crossmembers-

Cut them to this-

Standard TJM bashplate over the top to compare where the previous lowest point is to the new one to be-

Added steel plate at the angle needed-

Then tacked on the side splash wings-

And then took it off, fully seam welded it up, and clearanced the bolt hole locations, grinded her smooth round the edges and the welds, then a few coats of paint and back on the hilux-

gained 2" more clearance compared to the lowest point before and now the first point of contact is 4 inches further back behind the front of the tyre, so the tyre is going up and over most obstacles before she hits.

Yeah, not a triton, but we're talking bashplates here yeah? ;)

Thanks go to Silver GLXR for helping with the raw material :D

Looks like a fricken tank mmaaxx. Good protection! And even better clearance.
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

yeah, the prado's run the same chassis and dont use 1 at all....same with fj cruiser in usa and tacoma.

plus the new bashplates reinforces everything together better than before anyway.
