Guys,
Subi has been kind enough to host my bash plate drg on his ftp server.
The link to it is here Bash Plate Drg, just open it up and print it off 8-)
Also I have put the link as my signature to make it easy for whoever wants it.

Fitted my TJM ML plates to my MN but required a little trimming on the rear plate. Took about three minutes with the angle grinder. This may have been due to me flattening out the plates a little whilst 4wding. Had to get them rebent slightly by a metal shop.

Just a question......what thickness material do you make them out of? I was thinking either 3mm mild powder coated or stainless any got some suggestions?

Yep they fit on mine. I ground one of the ribs down a little but it would have fit anyway, I was just being careful.

Mitch.........I got the same plates as Buzzy has made...........used his drawing and had a local fabrication shop with a laser cutter make them up for me.

3mm Stainless steel..............strong as!!! And unlike the baysie plates...........they dont have the gussests on the back of the plate which traps sand and mud etc........probably not as strong a plate without the gussests on there, but if your hitting stuff that hard, you need to re asses the situation   Ive given mine a fair old bashing and not even a dent or anything :D

err sorry Mitch, I was not concentrating, I used Baysie's plates in the new galvanised finish. He sells the same ones for the MN as the ML so there shouldn't be any reason why other plates wouldn't also cross models smoothly? The holes all seem to line up and if you're not building any stiffening ribs or anything into them there shouldn't be any problem I would have thought.

Hey mate thanks for the reply and pic! I was thinking stainless so I don't have to paint it and i'll have it on the car quicker  I have downloaded buzzy's drawing and sent it to laser central so they can cut it and also bend it! I was seriously considering baysie's but doing it this way i can slip the job in with other jobs from work and i dont have to pay :D

Cheers

I just got some made by a mob called bushskinz here in newy, made from 4mm plate steel. Solid as a rock, but bloody heavy. Fit up nicely but were slightly exxy at $350, I couldn't wait for baysie to return so had little other option. Sorry kids, santa was busy treating himself this year.

After seeing yours bend like tin foil Gibbo i went straight to see a bloke that owed me a favour, i took Buzzy's drawing along and he bent me up a set out of 4mm plate, i just spent today cutting a custom design into them, need to paint them next weekend and fit them up, total cost so far $11.00 for a rattle can of paint.

Thats tops Dan, wish I had blokes that owed me a favour that could make them for me. 4mm is heavy duty and should last ages and offer serious protection.

Here is my custom bash plates that i have been working on after work for a few weeks. After seeing Gibbo mould his stock ones to the underside of his car on Stockton i went straight to see a bloke that owed me a favour, i had him cut and bend up a set from 4mm plate to Buzzy's design, i had to do the rest. I cut all the holes and the Mitsubishi logo out with hand tools, and it looks pretty good if i don't say so myself. Trust me they aren't going to bend in a hurry, bloody heavy to put on by yourself as well.

I know the galmet guy pretty well and he offered to tint up a can of Hammertone to match the colour of the car. Scabbed a bit of mesh and painted it

Total cost for the project $11.00 for a rattle can of primer (would have been free off Mr Galmet, but it was a weekend and i wanted to paint them)
