Relocating arb compressor

Relocating arb compressor

Postby asha31 on Sun May 25, 2014 5:08 pm

Just wondering if anyone has relocated their arb compressor.

I've got a arb rear diff lock and pump up kit, the compressor was previously next to the fuel filter. I've just installed a secondary diesel fuel filter in that position.
What is the best way to rig up the compressor in the tub?
Can I get looms from arb or should I just get an auto electrician to jest extend the wiring to the rear?
Not sure if I can cut the air line to a shorter length or just get a new one?
Any helpful tips would be appreciated. Cheers.

I Interested if anyone has had experience doing this....

If you don't have an amp under there you can put it under the passo seat. Mine's there and other than scaring you occasionally when it starts you wouldn't know it's there.

people have them located all over the place. You will be looking at a shorted hose length so i think that will be fine.

my only comments would be;

place it where it wont get filthy - it does suck fresh air.
make sure you fuse the power supply at the battery - any auto-lec should be able to do that easy.

If its the arb compressor you can fit it in the small gap between the air box and guard thats where i put mine no other spot especially with dual batteries fitted. If you would like photos let me know i just used 6mm nut serts into the inner guard.

Mine is behind the rear seat. Moving it is pretty easy but you need to take your time and maybe take some photos or something just in case so you remember what goes where. The hose you can shorten simply enough. I'm guessing you'll need to lengthen your power wires at least. The rest will depend whether they've cut everything short or whether it is all coiled up and tied somewhere. It might end up being easier to buy a new loom depending on the price.
