Dash pocket drilling for cables.

Dash pocket drilling for cables.

Postby BillMcQuade on Sun Aug 31, 2014 7:28 am

I wanted to run the ScanGuage cable through the back of the dash pocket. Previously, I thought that I would have to remove the dash pocket (and most of the dash), so I put the job off. I am happy to report that there is plenty of clearance to drill through the back of the dash pocket without removing it. You have to remove the drivers lower dash panel to check that no wiring is present, but it saves a lot of time, and busted clips to simply drill through with the pocket in-situ.

Sorry Bill, if I seem dumb, but what, exactly, is a 'dash pocket"?

Its the blank pocket in the lower dash where you can put stuff... a storage slot.

I think in a glxr its the radio, on the glx the radio is up the top in the hood section
