Spare wheel winder

Spare wheel winder

Postby gunn parker on Thu May 03, 2018 9:53 am

Hi All
I have searched but I think my search ability sucks.
I am looking into replacing the winder ( the actual handle) for the spare wheel. Others must have the same issue and wonder what you have done?
cheers

The problem with mine and I guessed it was common is that when I finished winding the spare up the little metal springs had turned inside one of the tubes and jammed.
So I was hoping someone had found a good replacement.
cheers

I have the same issue, I've simply left it all assembled, still works to wind the spare up and down and still operates the Jack, no great issue really

Get the glx winder.
Its one piece instead of the 3 piece glxr version

I’ve got one I’m not using anymore. 3 piece version but the springs have binded so it’s now become one

Its a pretty crappy bit of gear.

Also thought of making something based around hex drive extensions. Would still allow compact storage and possible drive with cordless driver.

RHK, I'm pretty sure I've seen a hex drive one on the Pajero forum, although the drive might have been from inside the car.
If I find it I'll post a link.
