There have been reports of blanks causing unforeseen issues in 2.5s after the most recent ECU updates. To be honest I'm having trouble remembering exactly what they were but the advice from Tony (who knows more about this stuff than I ever will) was that it was better to take them out.

I have fitted Tony's resistor kit. The car drives great. Drove from gympie to sydney.

However I got a p2138 code on the highway. also it has started to hold revs around town. Can anyone offer advice on this please

The code seems consistent with a throttle position input fault however I would first be checking all connections on your EGR mod

Step 1. Remove the mod. Check your connections. Clear the code and see what happens

Connections seen good...is the throttle position sensor something easy to rest _ replace?

did you cut the correct wire and is it wired in the correct way?

Remove the mod and join the wires again and see if it goes away

Maybe he had a few wires that he had to cut that day, and one may have been for that lazy bomb that he had sitting around in his garage that he had to diffuse! Possibly the reason for not replying.

We've had a few warmer days this week and noticed the challenger running on after turning off the key. I installed SPV mod about a month ago, is this something I should be concerned about?

I also heard there is a new SPV mod that uses a different method and is plug and play, should I consider this instead?

thanks

Thanks for replies.
Have been on a cruise and on off grid..Good one CC2005 D.H. The problem seems only to be when on cruise control. Besides that little problem the car went beautifully..

G'day guys, still getting the engine light after fitting Tonys mod, and after playing around with the resistance to no avail I've put in the single 6k8 resistor across the thermistor wires so it's a constant below 0 reading.

Still got the light, well I clear the light and it stays off until I turn it off then have to start it again. I've read before that it could be my egr valve motor or drive nut flogged out.

Are the ML & MN EGR valves the same? They're a different P/N (ML 1582a037, MN 1582a038) but the only thing I seen different was the angle the plug comes out of the plastic motor housing which looks like it could be unbolted and turned anyways, can anyone confirm this?

That's the problem with all the new tech, even though bits may get tricked into not operating, the ecu will perform self tests at startup.

ultimately we need an open source MUTT so we can tell the ecu what we want.

As far as I can tell the resistor mod makes ecu think cold air in air box hence closing egr. But if cold air in air box wouldn't ecu effictivly tell fuel system "it's cold an I want to warm up , so pump more diesel in to make hotter" thus the possibility of "cooking" injectors and Pistons from over fueling ? Or am
I a goose again?

And besides it has other temperature readings to tell it the engine isn't cold, just the incoming air.
