Has anyone bought one of these? I'm getting a major service done on Friday I might get him to put one in when he changes the oil if I can get it in time. Just have to check the thread size and see if anyone local stocks them if not might tell him I'll do the oil after.

aust I made some enquires on this & the first response I got was from a guy selling these on Ebay in the US.

He advised me that the F106 is the one for the Trito Diesel.

I am waiting for replies from Aus companies & will let you know what they say & cost.

just rang the reseller from mt druitt (details below) and he's going to work out a delivered price for me. They list at $54 but he hasn't adjusted his price since the dollar went up and I told him he'd be working against AU$30 delivered from the US. Sounds like he bought on the lower dollar and paid duty so not positive he'll come through with a good enough price.

Ziligent Pty Ltd trading as Fumoto Australia
ABN: 33 114 501 049

Email: info@fumoto.com.au
Phone: 0402 399 445
Fax: (02) 9741 3997
Mail: 24 Durham St, Mount Druitt NSW 2770 (Office only)

Looking like these will be a must have if you have the sump guards since you can use an extension hose with them to get around taking the guards off.

I cannot recommend these highly enough guys, had one on my last three Subarus, did a group buy for one of the clubs and just haven't got around to getting one for the Triton.

AB when you have a price from your supplier, I can check if I might be able to do better by going straight to my contact at the importer like I did for the Subaru guys :)

Cheers

I'll chat with my mechanic and see what he can do but I'm not keen on paying a premium for a product that's made o/s and purchased here when I can import it cheaper myself. Here's an ebay option that's priced reasonably too.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FUMOTO-ENGINE-OIL-DRAIN-VALVE-WITH-NIPPLE-FOR-HOSE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122QQcategoryZ38657QQihZ008QQitemZ180240406657QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD2V

Here's what the NSW reseller sent me:
Hi Trent,

I have revised my pricing and the best I can do is:

$AU36 for the F106N and $AU7 delivery. This totals $43. This is all GST inclusive. This makes it competitive with the US pricing.

US pricing is still a little cheaper, but their delivery is $US12 for international, not $4 as you said.

I can’t go any cheaper, because I still have to add my import costs as well as add GST. Not to mention, the stock I have now was purchased when the US dollars wasn’t as bad as it is now.

I will also get it to you in one or two days rather than a week or two.

If you still want to go ahead, you can purchase from the website. The new pricing is up now.
$34 delivered is the best he'll do. I think I'll get one for that price since it'll be here for my oil change this friday. Now I just need to find the hose clamp and get some hose for it.

p.s you have to put triton club in the order form to get that price.

I am going to buy mine tomorrow. I will pick it up from Silverwater $29-00 for the F106N which has the nipple to connect the drainage hose.

Thanks for the bargaining Aust.

Mine arrived no worries and its getting fitted today at my 45k kms service. Mate is going to try and source a hose for it but if he doesn't get time today i'll just grab one and do it myself.

Read the thread buzzy 8-)

I bought it from the fumoto.com.au site and as I mentioned if you include triton club after your name you get the $34 price.

Alternatively use the link I put in for lubrication specialist and get it from the US for $30 landed. The tight arse side of me wanted to wait but with my car getting serviced today I thought it'd be worth the $4 to get it now. 8-)

I contacted them beforehand, but the guy answered me back within an hour, so its not like your waiting days for a response.

He also said that if you order on their online form with a credit card, ignore the price but make sure you put 'TRITON CLUB' after you're last name so he knows to discount it.

As TS said just add triton club and he'll change it manually. I was wary that it was still showing the full price but I've checked my statement and he adjusted it as he said.

My mechanic fitted it no worries and even put a nice fat hose and drilled the bash plate out a little other wise a smaller hose would take too long to drain the oil if it was a bit cold. I'll get under and take some pics but if you could put some pics of the valve itself I'll add them and do a little article I suppose.

BTW its a ball valve and it came with a nylon washer I think so should be very safe I believe.

p.s I might even add a pic of the little battle scar I've got on my wrist getting the bloody drain bolt off last time and collecting a rough edge on the cross member. This will be a must have if you do your own oil I reckon.

Tri, did u get the one with hose fitting or without, I ask because bit worried it may protrude to far straight down creating a chance of rock hitting it (I have the TJM guards ordered so is drilling essential) thanks?

yes it has a fitting pointing downwards, but it is pretty much tucked up outta the way so i dont think there will be much chance of it getting snapped or anything,

i will take a pic tomorow.
