hey gents,
WOW it seems i am the only one who bought
the
TOYO OPEN COUNTRY H/T
265/75/R16
top speed rating 210km.
max psi 44psi
max load 1250kg

i just bought them yesterday, and got them fitted.
for some reason my truck feels like its jumping or something with these tyres, i am going back again to make sure everything is bolted right, and i will reduce tyre psi to 33psi, instead of 35.

have any of you had this prob? at first i though the rubber compound was just to waxy and needs to be worn down, but hell yesterday driving 140 in the triton was much scarier then driving 200km.
i am confident that these tyres are great for my application but in a an hr or so i am going to align and check again.
i am posting up pics of the treds.

anyone heard any reviews about these Toyos? they are the 08 verison

What Size? 245/75/r16

Brand? cooper

Style? (L/T,A/T, Claws, M/T) ST

Handle on Road? (Grip/noise) Good but noisy and uses more fuel

Handle off road? (Grip/Noise) Brilliant on rocks, in mud and everything in between

Price per tyre? (if you want)$330.00

Wear & Tear? (how are they wearing)10,000 kays between 30-40% gone

would be interested to know how people get big milage out of tyres? never managed more than 30,000 out of a set yet. tried most big brands but all seem to be about the same.

What pressure are you running in these tyres, could be a factor in how many K's you are getting?

Geez, you would expect that 10000k's would only be about 1-3mm at the most of wear, I think you need to do a measurement b4 wacking on a percentage.

pressures are normally 28psi in the front and rear empty,36-40 psi in the rear loaded. i have a lot of trouble with cooper st's in that any more than 28psi empty and the centre of the tyre wears a lot faster than the outside. after 10,000 kays the centre tread depth is 4mm less than the outside. 8mm in the centre 12mm on the outer edge. I spend about half my time on dirt roads whether this has any effect im not sure.

I run my Cooper ST 265/75/16 (LT) at 38psi front and rear, my truck is always loaded with at least 280-300kgs in the rear and so far not a problem tyres have done 5500ks.

What Size: 265/75/16
Brand: BF Goodrich
Style: Mud Terrain KM2
Handle on Road: First MT's I've ever driven with so a bit different but to be expected. Didn't take me long to get used to them.
Handle off road: Amazing. Just crawl through everything. Went away with a mate who was slipping and sliding everywhere. Had to take a run up at a few things (he had A/T's) I just cruised around and never had a loss of traction on any rocks or in the mud.
Price per tyre: $340
Wear & Tear: TBA

Just picked these up as a second set. They will eventually replace my tyres in a few months when they are well and truly buggered. I will update when I get more info on handling etc.
I did get a free air compressor! :D

Formidable with diff lock

Price per tyre? First set in country - trial for fourby's

Wear & Tear? Too early, but very soft, so expect to wear quickly

17

That is crossed up in a rut though, you can see the ground drop away underneath the car.

Triton on 33's had a big moment, i reckon i could have stood under his rear 33" - definate pucker moment.
Everyone ran to try and stop it rolling.

Ahhh, I couldn't work out why it looked so flat for mud. Should have known when your rubber guard was touching.

Scary when an "i'll have a go at that" moment goes to shite. $$$ signs start going through the mind pretty quickly.

I found a couple of sites that look like they will ship to Australia, but i reckon it would cost a pretty packet for shipping:

Quadratec

National Tire & Wheel

EDIT: Better yet, call this number (07 3272-9888) & speak to Tom at Exclusive Tyres & he'll be able to tell you who in your area sells the Mud Country & Crusher tyres.
