I'm assuming these weren't all on tritons given the 15 inch rims?

And mIwoo that's a sensational price on the 697s, how did you manage that?

Hi Dave, yes they were all on my current and previous tritons, I had to downsize my front calipers to fit them though

Why would you downsize brake calipers? Most of us go looking for extra braking rather than less

by going to the same dealer every time to buy tyres. always does my rotation, balances and alignments. using the dealer to buy my gf's car. so he knows that ill be back. also helped that they were in stock, he's trying to move stock pre EFY and he bought them at a great rate and was able to tfr onto me!

I NEVER buy tyres at standard price. Always buy on special.

If you were impressed by that I'd love to tell you the price I got on the previous 764's ;)

(see my quote above- i actually paid $960 for 5 tyres.... you do the math :D )

simply because I had a couple of grand worth of rubber sitting there that I wanted to use, and I had the calipers & rotors sitting on the shelf

Naff wrote:I'm guessing that would need an engineering certificate?

possibly, but they are from the same model & series car, just a few years prior, and they also come up as the right part number for my car, so I think I'll be ok

Handle on Road? Much better than my bighorns. Can 'just' hear them on the road.
Handle off road? Great. Dont chip and clear well. Only took the new set out for a quick play but the Triton went wherever I pointed it.
Price per tyre? $290 each.
Wear & Tear? I have had these before on another 4x4 and wore surprisingly well. Expecting around 50K+ out of this set.

Figured it was about time for a 12month update on these tyres.
Rolled over the 30000km mark and I couldn't be happier. They have performed amazingly well for the kinds of trips I have put under them in the last 12months. Many many hours pounding the highway, dirt roads, gravel, sharp rocks, mud, sand, etc. The only thing they haven't touched is snow.

IMO these tyres have worn sooo much better than my maxxis bighorns. They are still quiet and are wearing down like iron. Minimal chipping even though I rarely air down these days. I also admit that I have never had them rotated. I might get around to doing it eventually :P

If anyone is looking for a mud tyre they can run all year round and has similar on road manner as an AT, then have a look into a set of these. For the price, I can't fault them.

Interesting Macca- looks like Dynapro are on the rise. You keep bragging about the MT's.... and the AT's are getting good reviews by users- especially for a cheap tyre. Sound's like Maxxis finally has some competition in their class.

I'm impressed at how the corners of the tread blocks are still so square and sharp. Shaping up well for a good long life. ;)

Of course, most people use a ruler or tape. Have you had the key calibrated lately Macca?

Gees, it is going to sound like I am Macca's No 1 fan tonight ha ha but I agree. About 8000 klm now on my dynapro mt's. Excellent on the tough rough tracks which cost a buddy a Cooper recently . Fine on sand and better than the admittedly crap HT's on wet Tarmac. At $265 for a. 265/70 /17 it would have to be hard to beat!?

Cheers 5th. You have just reminded me that I really should to get my veneers out to see if the key is still within tolerance :P

But yes, the tyres are wearing down like iron. I have found in the past that sometimes if a compound is too hard, they chip easily, but so far I haven't had any issues with chipping.

The writing on the sidewalls are starting to look a bit tired after being rubbed up against rocks/ruts/mud for the last 12 months. I am not too fussed though, as the sidewalls are usually in the red/brown colour range anyways - depending on where I have been.

My only gripe is that they dont seem to bag as well as other tyres when I do let the air out, probably a result of their sidewall thickness. 26psi in the 'kooks looks close to 32psi in my mates MTZs. Easiest way to get around this is to just let more air out 8-)

$212.25 a tyre :o :D

Seems nice to drive on.

Compared to M MT764's, I am now aware how tough, heavy and well constructed the 764's were. And how good the MT road manners were :o

Interested to see how they go. After serious research, these tyres should be the ducks guts (for a road based AT).

Only reason I didn't go the maxis at980 was pure cost. M AT980 was $266 ea.

So driving on gravel today (road entrance to my property) I got a cut in the back right sidewall and a flat in about 1 min flat. I had 35 psi in it and was travelling slow, as I pulling up at the house. Not impressed

Thought these were meant to be the ducks guts.... I'll be taking it back tomorrow for an exchange!

Not how I imagined these tyres would start like

Wow, weren't you a good customer getting good deals :?

This is the reason I run mud tyres permanently. With over 120k km's run and on my 2nd set now I've never had a flat or tyre failure yet.

I know what my 3rd set will be also
