Paid $670 for 4 which included a wheel align at Jax Fyshwick

Drove out on a wet road and lit it up due to the mould release still on

too early to say for wear but the originals were unroadworthy at 32K

Most of my driving is highway 50% dirt/gravel 40% and 10% mud grass

Just put em on will see how they go

I have AT Goodyear Wrangler Silent armor 265 x16 on my Triton and a great tire.Quiet on and off road and I drive over anything and everything and with any other sort of tire I would have had multiple punctures by now. They are pretty good in mud, great on dirt and gravel roads, great offroad in the middle of nowhere and over rocks and stuff up in mountains. I do a hell of a lot of offroad driving and plenty on the road. So far have done around 55000ks on them and still got heaps of tread I reckon a bit under half of what they started with. They are wearing very evenly and did rotate every ten thousand Ks but haven't in last 20000ks. I have noticed that they are now a little slippery on wet smooth bitumen if I give it a bit other that that I love them. At the time they were a four for three deal with Goodyear and I think they were around $300 each so $900 for the four.

What Size - 265/75/16

Brand - Yoki Geolanders

Style? - AT

Handle on Road? Road grip is quite good when dry, pretty hard to get sideways when its dry. Barely any road noise at all. In the wet obviously is a lot worse, with TC on going around corners and round-abouts is good. Without TC on a sniff of throttle and I turn into Ken block.

Handle off road? Off road grip is okay, not as good as a MT, especially in the mud.... Obviously. They aren't very aggressive.

Price per Tyre? Picked mine up for $220 each.

Wear & Tear? So far I've done around 10 or 20k kms and haven't noticed much wear. I do go out wheelin a bit and I don't mind gettin sideways in the wet.

That seems to be the trend with these, mine went the same way even with plenty of tred left. I know of others that had the same issue too.

That sounds a good price Tex. Bet you notice the decreased road noise a bit.

The lad just brought a set of the new ones that are supposed to be 30% onroad and 70%offroad. They are pretty quiet and they also say they should get around 55000ks with a lot on the road and smaller amount off road. Can't remember the name ?? But they have great tread and should be good in mud and off road for sure, but their good on road so far. They also have big lugs that go around and down the wall a bit as protection. A great looking tyre and he got them for $245 each and also got the four for three deal so he brought five so he can rotate properly. Not bad five tyres fitted with free wheel alignment and also free balance and rotate every 10000ks and got the lot for under a grand. :o :D

Have a look at Maxxis Bravos. I had a set of AT761 A/T's on a Pajero and achieved over 100K;s before I replaced them with Maxxis AT980's, no problems on or off road and reasonably quite on the black stuff.

Size : 245/75R16

Brand : Maxxis Bighorn 764

Style : 10Ply M/T

Handle on road : Pretty good grip on the black stuff, Not very noisey for style of tyre but highly recommend rotating every 10k to prevent/slow down tyre chop out.

Handle off road : Really good grip, work exceptionally well in the mud & are a really great self cleaning tyre.

Wear : Last set had on got 100k with one wheel alignment when purchased. Current set have done approx 35k still 75% remaining.

Cost : Cost me $250ea @ Wheels in Ballarat

Just put on some Maxxis bravo AT 980s 265 70 r16 on stock glx+ alloys.

$230 FB per tyre and they should send me out a $100 eftpos card soon. So can't complain on price. Not used in anger yet. But obviously noisier than factory rubbish HT tyres.

Size: 265/65/17
Brand: Nitto
Style: Terra Grappler G2
not fitted yet getting on monday.
Price: $156.75 per tyre fitted and balanced

Bob Jane has a sale on for this month of November Buy 3 Nitto tyres get one free.

So 265/65/17 G2's are $209 fitted and balanced which equals $627 for 4 tyres so your basically paying $156.75 per tyre.
Can't really go wrong with that I thought.

1. Factory 17" alloys day to day

Size: 265/65/17
Brand: Bridgestone
Style: D697 LT (all terrain)

Handle on road: Great, I'd almost argue they are better than the stock highway tyres just a bit noisier

Handle off road: Pretty good, struggle in the slop but most conditions they've done thd job

Price: ~$250ea

2. Factory 16" alloys for play

Size: 265/75/16
Brand: BFG
Style: KM2 (mud)

Handle on road: Pretty reasonable, i was surprised. Small swarm of angry bees chasing me around but with no muffler and usually music going I'm not fussed. Have them on alloys, bit slower on the brake but acceleration isn't too much different. Wet bitumen isn't great but with super select I leave it in 4h and have no issues. Overall I wouldn't recommend on a daily driver, but they are predictable and I've driven on worse no name road tyres.

Handle off road: Is Mud Is Good. Not fantastic on gravel.

Price: Picked up 4x with around 5000 km on them for $600 total, had a quote for a single at the ~$350 mark but have seen them on ebay new at ~$300

Not terrible on gravel just aren't great, though I do have a habit of pushing a bit hard.. I thought 697s were much nicer.

I'm probably being harsh, they are mud tyres not rally tyres.

245/75/16 BFG KO2 LT on 16 inch Sunnies

All up for 5 tyres and 4 steel rims I paid $2500. Just run up the 10k on them they have been an absolutely fantastic tyre and would get them again in a heart beat. The steel rims and slightly larger size add abit to breaking but you get used to it.

On the road they are a tiny bit noisy but only noticeable with the windows down, I actually find the noise soothing. I'm one of those weird types that never use the radio in the car. I love listerning to diesel clatter.

Fantastic tyre in the wet the grip is unparalleled, there is a slight amount of slip taking off in first on hills in the wet but you just give it abit more and off she goes. No one will tail gate you in the wet either, the spray these things give off to dickheads behind is insane.

On road handling is fantastic to, great for highway driving, only needing to let there pressure down when the heat for up this extremely long drives, aside from that held up well considering I did most of 10k going to visit n4t5 for some of those sparklers he fits. They also hold up well driving in the snow as I found out haha

I replaced my Pirellis with General AT 2 and they're far superior. I had a completely different relationship with my Pirelis than you from the sound of it, by 30000k's they were plan dangerous in the wet, they were good on sand but the chip resistance on sharp stones, the only kind in much of WA, was terrible and the sidewalls offered no protection agaisnt any sharp at all.

When I bitched to the dealer his answer was "great on the sand tho aren't they" and he had apoint, he went on to say they wouldn't reckon them for rock work, would of been handy to tell me when he sold them to me, or when I brought a replacement formthe one a rock tore the side out of.

Just got a quote for the same tyres; Nitto Terra graplers.

No sizing though on the quote (but i did request 245/65/17), so maybe they will be the 265 width?

Also, these were quoted at about 250 each but also has the 4 for 3 deal, so about 750 for a set which i think is still pretty good
