Gave me a bit of an :? moment there, Ken. Thought "I'm sure I just posted that".

Then realised that I must have posted before somewhere. Do i get extra points for consistency?

G'day Guys
Anyone know a source of black wheel nuts that suit MN factory alloys?I'm getting some 17" LE rims powdercoated for my new GLX.All the black nuts I can find look like they are for steel rims?

Cheers

Hi everyone,
Is the thread size on a ML the same as any other vehicle. I only need to know as I am changing my camper trailer wheels to suit the Triton. Just not sure if there is difference between the actual threads on the wheel studs.

Thanks.

Not necessarily. Thread sizes vary from vehicle to vehicle.

NFT5, is that common for ML 2008 steel rims as well??

At close to $5 each I'm not about to march down to the local Mitsubishi dealer but I do need some information on the size so I can order the right ones. I already know that they are M12x1.5 but these are available in various lengths.

Can someone run a caliper over a factory alloy wheel nut and advise the sizes. The dimensions I need are like in this drawing:

I'm almost in the same boat, I'm looking for the wheel nuts and unaware of sizing. What size was your factory alloy? If it's the same size alloy as what I'm about to buy then I'm sure I'll be after the same nut size as you needed

Post #5 on Page 1 of this thread confirms these are the right size. Should fit all factory alloys so the size of mine (16x7) really is irrelevant.

Cheers, I really have no knowledge of this kind of thing so at least now I know what I'm looking for.

I've just been to repCo and had my head fried. Bloke told me after I showed him the black and white pic above of the wheel nut that I was wrong about the size needed. He told me it's a different size according to his book and that there are none physically in wa. They are a special order and will take ten days to arrive from sa. He also told me that it's not as simple as changing a wheel with a new nut. I need the bolts as well and will have to bang them out before and replace with the new ones before I fit new rim.
Then he told me they are 8 bucks each. When I said that the dealer is cheaper than that per unit, he just shrugged his shoulders at me. This is what he said was the size i needed.

I haven't got much knowledge about this kind of thing as the triton is the only vehicle I've had where I've wanted to change to a better wheel.
Do I have to do all the stuff that the bloke said or is he talking utter faeces?

The measurement for both of those nuts were measured from different places, one was with the washer (14) and the other was without it (12).

I am just assuming that piece is a washer, I haven't swapped my wheels around yet.
