NSW Help needed ..

Postby DCDAD on Tue Jul 28, 2015 11:06 pm

Hello Guys and Girls,

Could someone help me out a little? Could someone drop into a car yard for me ( D&J Ford ) and check out this Triton for me, ONLY interested in the size of the tyres , and the make of wheel please.

Its the look I'm looking for with mine ( Hoping they're 17s )

That looks like the thunder from allied wheels. They may have changed the centre cap more recently though.

If you do a google image search you'll see more examples with tyres fitted etc

Thanks 4wd26 , they're all very close in design aren't they, i have already received a reply from allied ( super fast hey ) ,
"Hi and thanks for your enquiry on our range, we are a wholesale company only and therefore do not sell direct to the public at all, best bet is to contact your local or preferred wheel and tyre retailer for best pricing. We do have the thunder in stock However this wheel will be a very aggressive fitment on your Triton, we would recommend the Thunder 11 for best fit."

So I'm no further in finding out what or who makes these particular wheel . Ill ring the car yard up this morning , see if they can send someone outside to have a look for me !

Thunder II has an offset look very similar to the ALCOHA wheels on trucks ... so I'm not convinced that is them .. :?

It's the centre cap in the dealer image that gives them away as allied. That's how their centre caps all used to look. The black bit on the silver would have allied written in it if the photos were clearer. Hence why I mentioned that they've changed the centre caps.

They list the sizes and the offsets on their site so that's easy enough. You'll likely find some online tyre joints with pricing too.

Thanks Dave, Do you think the wheel is too aggressive ?
He seems to think they protrude the guards too much , i think they look fine , but I'm only going off Internet pics..

Older US style alloy, but that looks a zillion times better than the black hole look that's become popular lately. ;)

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay us to do it?

It depends on the size as there are a range of offsets offered. 16x7 for example would be no drama (but you'd want wider than 7 probably).

You'll need to stay offset positive to stay in the guards. CD is right about the 16x7.
