Tyre predicament

Postby 09tritonvr on Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:24 am

I'm at a cross roads and need help.

Got my new Triton VR the other day, but hate the standard tyres. As you'd all now, they're 16"

I have a set of near brand new 33x12.5x15 BFG Muddies sitting in the shed from my old Patrol.

I was thinking of fitting some new black Sunraisia's to my bus with the BFGs, as I've seen a few and like the look, or should I sell em off and whack some new 16" tyres on the factory rims? I know the 15's would probably put the speedo out but i thought I'd use my GPS to help me out.

My dealer said he'd happily buy the factory wheels and tyres off of me too, which i thought I could put towards the lift I'd need to fit the 33's...

Any thoughts people??

Jacko has some alloy 15" wheels on his truck, maybe check his shed or pm.

Have gone ahead and ordered 265/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler MTR's and will fit them to the factory rims for now. Will look at selling the 33" BFG Muddies now....

This seemed to be the best place to post my question, so as not to create yet another 'Help me with my tyre choice' thread!

Ok, so here's my question...I have the opporunity to get either Bridgestone Dueler M/T D673...or possibly Yokohama Geolander M/T+ Muddies...they're both going to be secondhand, but having read thru a few tyre threads, there doenst appear to be anyone using either of these tyres.

Is there a reason for this? Have they been tested before & havent been up to the challenege? Anyway, Im not sure which tyre is going to be better for mud, sand, dirt etc. Any ideas or thoughts on which one I should get?
Thanks in advance. :D

These are for a second 'weekend' set aren't they Adz?

I would just go the most aggressive or the set with the most tread depth

I haven't heard anything bad about them, which is good.
But i haven't heard anyting good either.

See nothing nothing but top quality vague answers on this forum

Yep, they are jop...its hard to choose because they both look quite aggressive...but I think you might be right about picking the one with the most tread depth.

Im hoping they have 5 of the yokies cos they seemed quite aggressive but had more tread.

  I dont know WHAT you're talking about!! ;) Vague answers, on here? Screw off, you're joking right??
