Wheel Alignment Query

Wheel Alignment Query

Postby daryn on Sun Aug 09, 2009 5:57 pm

A couple a weeks ago I got an alignment done and received a computer print out with it, only this morning have I read it for the first time and noticed that my vehicle is listed as a MK Triton...

Now, of course I am no expert at this but would they have used MK alignment target figures to adjust mine to, as we all know both vehicles have a completely different IFS setup.

My question is does the vehicle name on the chart affect what has been done or is it just for descriptive purposes ?

If yes, I think I need my alignment redone.

I know I can easily ring them tomorrow and ask, but I need to get knowledge on this so I dont just go yep, yep, yep on the phone and agree with them.

I would imagine they would have done it to ML specs but it cant hurt to ask.
Did Ultimate do the alignment after they fitted the suspension?

Thanks Buzzy,

I wanted the suspension to settle in, and Ken advised to give it the drive home before having it done.

Well Tyrepower Newcastle reckon that the vehicle is too new for them to have alignment specs on so they used the previous model (MK).

That sounds like crap to me.

Are there any Tyre experts here which can advise please ?

Tyrepower have the specs on a national database and I know the Tyrepower in Scoresby did my mates with the correct ML printout...

Well a call to State Office gives results, and would you believe that today, I said today, their database was updated with 2008 data by the wheel alignment machine thingy company.

Is that coincidence or what!

Daryn, had mine done at 25,000km by Bridgestone Mayfield because it was scrubbing a bit. They looked at the spec then said "via spec it was OK but we changed it slightly after looking at the wear". now at 51,000 wearing much better. (BFG all terrains).
Cant complain about that.
