90 series Prado rims

Postby 4wd26 on Mon Feb 21, 2011 6:49 pm

Guys,
on the weekend purchased a set of alloys off a 90 series Prado (1996-2002 from memory)

These are a 16x7 rim with a +15 offset (so will move each wheel 23mm from standard or increase track by nearly 50mm)
Fitted with 265/75/16 tyres these fit into the guards very nicely, and come out flush with the outside edge of the flare on the GLX-r.

These fit up with additional clearance to the brake callipers, and I have tested articulation/ and no rubbing is evident on the mudguards.

Will be fitting these up with 235/85/16 rubber in time for Coffs- but in the meantime will run the remaining tread down.

Pics to come.

Congratulations 26 you've officially taken the title ;)

I reckon you'd be close to being out where mine run if you put 265's on them.....tell me again are 235/85 32's?

yep 235/85/16 are a narrow 32".

and the tyres in the pics are 265/75/16 (so also 32") but pretty worn silent armour that will be changed before coffs.

BTW- Jop still has the title (he just got the 33" tyres remember) meaning I could get these and still fly under the radar.

It depends how "worn out" you guys are if you intend to travel up "daisy chain" style and pay a visit to Brown Town

Guys just found out from the darkside that the new FJ Cruiser (which arrives next month) will also have the same offset

This will be awesome news as the rim is 17x7.5 and +15 (hope it sort of ends up being like the Hummer H3 rims all the owners want to upgrade so they will be available)

No idea of the style

Running 90 series prado steel rim with +15 offset fittedwith 265 75 16. Great fit but calipers are very close to inside rim spokes, No problem though.
