Just received a set of Prado steel rims shod with MTR Kevlar 265/70 17. Supplied with nuts. As the Triton is hub centric and I would like to use these rims can any one help as to where I can source hub spacers (not packers) in the Newcastle area. Thanks for any help.

As they are steel, you don't need hub spacers

guessing something like this

can be run without the hub spacer, but being steel rims is not set correctly on the hub can cause balance issues

try one of the big tyre chains as they may have them in stock- or they will have to order in, I believe alloy wheel manufactures have them

Just pay extra attention to the pattern you use when you tighten the wheel nuts and you should be right.

So if I'm reading that right, a 17" off an MN won't fit am ML as there is .5" different in width?

Cheers, what I missed out was that I have an ML GLXR and am heading away bush for a month and have access to some 17s off an MN GLXR and was thinking of throwing one on the roof as a second spare so would only be an emergency spare. Just wasn't saw when I read the firstmpage showing offset if it would be ok

Have a look at this link,

It's just for viewing purposes, I'm not buying these.

http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotiv ... ber=6MJR5W

Will these fit on my ml triton? I know someone with a set gathering dust and they'd look a hell of a lot better than my stock steels

Cheers!

I know they look the same but I don't know if the hilux rims are the same as the prado rims in the 2 pics above

That T in the middle doesn't stand for Triton

Your major worry will be rejection with those rims.

It will be a life long drama of anti rejection drugs administered at every fill up. Unfortunately anti rejection drugs will only go so far and there have been sever cases were a vehicle has decided enough is enough, and spat a rim with those markings at high speed.

There is also the issue of fellow Triton drivers rejecting you for having bad taste.

I think I can live with that, they'll only be on until I save the wedge for some alloys.

Hopefully I'll upset the hilux owners more than the triton ones

I'm not sure what tyres I'll be getting, I only go offroad to get wood a few times in the winter, I use it to cart equipment but mainly i bought the 2wd for the reason of not needing anything more, less weight, less things to go wrong, I'll have this thing for years so I'm just updating things slowly, if I get these hilux wheels I might just be happy enough to keep them on but I'm still searching for some info whether they will fit the triton. The bloke lives over two hours away and I'm seeing him
soon enough but if I could tell him ether they do or don't, he can move them on and not take up the space saving them for me

So I'm guessing no one knows if they fit or if I need different wheel nuts?

WIP Wheel offset bible

6/139.7 PCD WITH 30+ OFFSET

Same PCD and the offset is only 8mm off, so should fit no worries assuming they are the same as those in the ad

If you already have steel wheels, you probably have the right acorn style nuts to suit.

Anybody know the weight of an MN GLX-r 17"x 7.5" alloy rim?

Just been through the wheel bible and MN Rim etc doesn't search well.

a 16 incher at 7 inches wide was estimated at 10kg. I would have thought the 17/7.5 couldn't be any more than maybe 12kg based on that?
