Shock absorber replacement option costs

This is a current quote for replacement of front and rear shocks for MN triton [ no lift] in Hobart for those of you thinking of alternatives to Ultimate. [ I PM'd them twice but got no reply]
We can offer 3 options for your vehicle.
First the Bilsteins which are a high pressure gas . $560 a pair for the front and $396 for the rear. These are not adjustable and can be rebuilt and revalved if ever required.
The other option is Koni which offer a low pressure gas or a twin tube oil shock. The oil shock offers the best in ride comfort but is also the dearest.
The low pressure gas are $534 for the front and $455 for the rear.
The oil Koni are $833 for the front and $917 for the rear.
Both Konis are adjustable. The oil Konis can also be rebuilt or revalved

I will be going with the Bisteins and will provide feedback once fitted in a couple of weeks.

Had the Bilsteins fitted and made a huge difference in ride quality, not harsh just firmer. Even helped with nose diving.

Clearly you're not looking for alternatives and the Bilsteins have a reputation for being very good.

The Bilsteins are probably the most popular replacement for the Pajero and I considered them very seriously for mine. What concerned me, though, was a series of fairly catastrophic failures. Probably small in terms of overall numbers but they'd never been very popular for the Triton either, again with a number of failures reported.

From what I was able to research it is quite important to make sure that the shocks you get are the correct length, both compressed and fully extended. Bilstein have a range of different models which might fit but not all meet both the length requirements.

I'll be interested to read your assessment once you have them fitted. Even better would be if you could revisit this every 10,000 or 15,000 kilometres so we can get an idea of how they go in the longer term.

You might have to plead with one of the mods to take it down to save embarrassment

They're already laughing their heads off.

I see OP hasn't been here for a couple of years. Wonder if his Billies made the distance? Guess we'll never know.
