fox suspension

Postby triton_guru on Fri Jul 12, 2013 8:46 am

hi guys was shopping around for new suspension and came across a mob in north adelaide the first quote i was given was for a dobinson 2" lift kit and the quote was $1500 fitted which i thought was awesome as everywhere else quoted me atleast $2400, we then got talking and he said look if you want the best suspension i can install a fox setup for around $2400 fitted, after checking out the setup he had on his gq i was pretty much sold but i just wanted to see if anyone else has fitted fox suspension? I use to do downhill back in the uk and fox was always the muts nuts of suspension as so was wondering wether its the same in the car game

Moved into suspension
not sure if ultimate would ever comment on a competitors stuff?

If you can get adjustable and remote reservoir Fox suspension, and you could find someone that was going to adjust the valving to suit the triton then the stuff is pretty good (never heard any reports of use in a triton though)

I have found in the past, with high quality suspension, unless you have a professional suspension shop and YOU have the development time to get the valving, rebound and compression to suit the springs and vehicle that you are paying a lot of money just for the name.

I guess il give it a go and yes it has the remote reservoir and the shocks are 100% rebuildable the bloke that owns the shop is an engineer that while i was there had a 200 series landcrusier chopped into a single cab lol looked nuts but he races and said fox would be the best buy and are the best suspension you can get just thought i would question you guys if anyone had some insight :D

yeh a friend of mine has fox shocks on his hilux, soaks up big hits unreal and with no loss of comfort when cruising at any speed. They'd want to be good thou for the price haha, but i cant see how running shocks with remote reservoirs like fox and king would be worth while on the triton.

Does that $2.4K include upgraded leaf springs or just shocks front & back... ? What springs included... etc?

Like 4wd26 said, if it is set-up correctly it would be great. If just a mismatch of products thrown together, the result will be awful.

Good luck. :geek:

thats a good price if they will valve it for you vehicle.

be interested in the outcome if you proceed- I just had a look at the fox site and they don't have a strut for the triton (or mitsubishi) so really keen to see what they are offering

if you can get this sort of thing into a triton I'll be very envious

Yeah i looked aswell and they said that the triton/l200 strut is in the generic section, he also said that they are a coilover and that i can adjust the height on them, after doing some research and speaking to a few mates that race buggys in the finke, they all say fox is what u want so rexkon im going to go with that will post the quote when i get it so if anyone else wants the same thing they can show them the quote n not get ripped off :D
