Braided lines didn't really help my ML, still doesn't stop.
I have taken it to a specialist and they say there is nothing wrong with it!!!!
Reckon it's just an ML thing and hates to stop!
My next step will be a new or up graded brake booster!

I did some experiments when first encountering all the guff on braided lines.

The inference that the standard hoses somehow "balloon" in use seems to be a subjective conclusion from the fact that the standard hose is rubber on the outside. Its actually the braided reinforcing cords imbedded in the rubber that contain the pressure and these shouldn't stretch. If a hydraulic hose balloons - throw it out.

Back to the experiment - 1. I placed a digital vernier caliper on several locations on the hose while having the maximum force applied to the brake pedal - and there was no detectable expansion.

2. Did similar tests to check for any stretching and again nothing notable.

I think the biggest benefit for braided lines, esp for 4x4 use, is the protection offered to cuts and abrasions. For this reason I'd probably also change to braided when the time comes to replace the OEMs.

although my braided lines did make some difference it did not solve my braking issues. it does stop but you need a lot of brake pressure compared to other tritons including my wifes MN and even other ML's i have driven.
This car is like a bad drug habit. It is taking all my money and time, my family are concerned, but new mods just feel sooooooo good.

Yeah that's what I find Snowy, extreme amount of pressure needed but this doesn't always work????

I have installed the DBA slotted rotors and DBA heavy duty pads on my 2007 ML VR Triton and they are awesome.. only issue is they squeal like crazy when they are cold and the vehicle is moving very slowly... anybody got a fix to stop the squealing issue??

Take the car out and give the brakes a hiding, also make sure your rear brakes are adjusted
