Rear sagging

Postby braydenc on Thu Jul 21, 2016 4:53 pm

Hi guys and girls,

Quick question regarding my setup I have a CFX50 in my car with a slide permanently and my Recovery gear including compressor etc on the left side I have noticed the rear sagging a touch and wondering what the best coarse of action is.

upgrading the shocks

upgrade the leaf springs to higher rated units?

any info would be much appreciated

You would have to upgrade your springs & maybe shocks. But that is not much weight? Maybe spread the load out a bit more in the back, but that amount of weight shouldn't be an issue. Do you have pictures or heights measured ?

I can get some for you mate the total weight of the fridge and slide is unloaded 37.9kg I would say 15kg would be added with beer etc so it would be about 50kg total weight all the time in there plus recovery gear about 30kg so about 70kg on that side.

plus a awning but that weighs bugger all.

Factory leaf springs don't seem to carry any load very well.

Probably cheapest option. Get a suspension shop to add a leaf to leaf pack.

You would be hard pressed to find better than Ultimate.

Alternative kits are advertised on eBay, and appear cheaper, until you look at what you have to add to them to get the same package as Ultimate, but they're still minus the quality and the R&D. The components from Ultimate have been well proven by many forum members.

Ultimate have very good before and after sales service if you ever need it. That alone is a very good reason to choose them.
