Postby Adam ace on Sat Oct 24, 2009 3:46 am

I have been trying to find out the differance between
GXL heavy duty (harder)
GLR and GLXR Sports suspension (softer)
How is ths achived as ride heights are the same, asked mmal some bullshit about not divulging company secrets
Local dealer said sports only front is softer, Big smoke dealer said sports was firmer :?
I checked number of back leaf springs, same? maby shocks
Any info?

Depends on whether you use it for work or play. If work, it's heavy duty. If play, it's sports.

Seriously Adam, I have no idea what the difference is, if it is coils/leaves or shocks/struts.

Interesting question, which normally would have me checking on before buying too. However, it might be a bit irrelevant in this case.

I haven't driven the MN but if it like the ML and pretty much all dual cabs the standard shocks are crap and it's the first upgrade you do to make them handle.
I hate to advocate drugs, sex, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.

   You can use the truck for work, but its absolutely nothing like heavy duty suspension.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.

In the ML i believe the GLX has an extra helper leaf on the bottom. Haven't looked for a while but there was a difference. :?

Single Cab standard coils wire diameter is 16mm the heavy duty is 17mm

Free Length standard is 289mm heavy duty is 294mm.
