seems a but odd ..has it been pranged before?? 30mm difference is a fair bit hey I'd imagine it would be quite noticible?. I'm surprised they gave it back to you like that...I wouldn't be happy personally ...

it is noticeable... never been in a prang other than the deer that led me to get the bar fitted 8-) but that was on the drivers side so who knows ay. I'm heading back to Ultimate next week for its 1000k check. Will be more like 1500-2000 but anyway

Yeah it will be interesting to have a look at your vehicle Kizza. I just pulled out the job card and your measurements are pretty normal-

Before-
PSF- 508 DSF-520
PSR- 557 DSR-573

After-
PSF- 577 DSF-587
PSR- 622 DSR-634

These were measured on the hoist which is level. Is it possible the spot you are measuring on is not level?

yeah Brendan the inlaws drive way isn't exactly level per say haha I was thinking maybe the dsf was a bit high and push the psf down on the drive way. I cant help but feel like the passenger side sits lower. maybe I just need to put on some weight ;)

in all honesty its a new truck... completely different. cant wait to get her off road and let you know how she goes. in a family full of pootrols I think I can show em up! :D

ML V6 dual cab at near standard weight (no bar/winch etc) running MN GLX springs front and rear with Ultimate shocks without any strut height spacers:

Front 575mm
Rear 610mm

I like the way it sits and since I usually don't carry any major weight in the back I like having less than the usual 50mm difference front and rear. Shudder is almost non existent.

After the heavy duty dobinsons kit. Heavy duty front s and heavy rear, 300kg to gvm which is a 5+2 leaf pack..

Front 585mm
Rear 645mm

The rear should soften up a little and there is a slight shudder on take off with the centre mount bearing flipped and the springs have built in caster wedges. But over all its excellent. Not just need to fill guards lol

After 30,000km, the Pedders setup in the front has settled just a lil, fronts now at 560 & 563, rears both at 615, with front winch bar, bash plates, rear protection bar, canopy with racks, draws and maybe 200kg in the back constantly. Should have maybe gone for a lighter rear leaf setup (went heavy instead of medium), but is fantastic when loaded up and towing, if a lil firm when empty.

Hi I installed dobinson heavy duty raised front struts and a set of extended shackles on standard leaf and shocks about a year ago just before I did my cape trip. Here's how it measures up now. In the last 6 months the fr has sagged 5 mm but the fl has sagged 20mm? Warranty? As for the rears it sits on a bit of a lean but what do you expect when you do the cape on my rear setup at 3+ tonne. I think it's nearly time for some raised med duty ultimate rears 8-)

I'd say that the RL has sagged, pulling the FL down with it. Suspension tends to work in diagonals, so if one corner is sitting higher the diagonally opposite corner is almost always sitting lower. Try jacking the RL of the body/chassis until the rear is sitting level, and then measure the front. If the front is level, then the issue is in the rear. ;)

After plenty of research and discussions I have just emailed my order for a 2" ultimate kit. 2013 GL-R auto dual cab loaded up with plenty of weight and currently measures

FR 520mm
FL 515mm
RR 540mm
RL 540mm

Based on same models with or without all the extras I am expecting around 575mm in the front and around the 630mm in the rear which will be a massive difference. I will take plenty of before, during installation and after photos and measurements. Fingers crossed!

What colour are the ultimate components now days

Rl 595 Rr 600

Lost my notes from when they were installed but feels like the rear has sagged a bit

Have had my ultimate suspension in about 4 months now and it has settled down to the following heights:

FL 565mm
FR 570mm
RL 620mm
RR 625mm

The front seems like it has settled a little bit low or am I just dreaming.

Yeah that sounds low. Give them a call - for mine it was all the extra weight with a bullbar and winch etc and they were able to add a raised seat for the spring on the strut to bring it back up.

Other customers and fitters have also recorded higher trim heights with a few up to 560mm (with no accessories). This is basically the same as a 2" lift. :o ..... we can still only raise the Triton to our normal raised height (approximately 570mm).
..snipp.

Hey guys,
I have just gotten a roof rack tray and very soon getting the 2 inch lift plus bigger tyres.. Basically
Will put me at roughly 1872mm in height.. My question is say if I wanted to go into a carpark that is only 1.9m.. Should I trust their measurements at the entrance? How accurate are they? And also does my rods height increase when I am going up or down ramps?

Cheers

You would think that their measurements would be a safe measurement I.E 1.9m would probably be like 1930mm high or something. But who knows if there is a longer pipe bolt or added fire pipe somewhere? Your 1870mm is only 30mm off their quoted 1.9m so don't know about you but my arse would be biting the seat every time I came to a low point Haha.
