Random Suspension Questions

George Kyro wrote:Hi Guys Quick question

I have added under body protection , bull bar, rear bar, and rock sliders on my car prior to doing any suspension work .
If i go to put a 2 inch lift and 2 inch body lift will my under carriage protection front and rear bars and rock slider still bolt on with no hassles ???

Im a little worried about this as vie just gone out and purchased all this at once and didn't even think that it may not fit when it comes time to add the 2 inch lift and body lift
Cheers Georgie

To also add onto chris's comment you'd also have to possibly modify the sliders and rear bar, your radiator would need lifting and longer hoses added (that is unless you wanted to cut the shroud to bits). There is also the posibility the gear sticks may need extending and and and

I did this many years ago to a 4runner and it is a great height benefit but a lot of work and thought is needed in the lifting process. I'm sure you get the picture ;)

Was thinking of getting the standard suspension kit from ironman. I hardly ever do any 4wdrving. when I do I never carry any load. Are they alright?

If you do a search on Ironman suspension you'll find a few that say that they are happy, but you'll also find quite a few who aren't. Ironman either works for you or it doesn't and since you're buying off the shelf, unless you can find someone that has an identical vehicle and does the same things with it as you do, you're flying blind.

On the other hand, if you search Ultimate suspension you'll find hundreds, maybe thousands of very happy customers. Suspension that is tailored to your needs will always work better and when there is the occasional problem, they fix it. For another $200 it was a no brainer for me.

That extra $650 is by far the best money you will ever spend on your Triton. ;) there is a reason everyone on this site raves about Ultimate suspension.....not Ironman.

Doesn't matter how much 4wding you do....it's the on road characteristics that make Ultimate the winner by far ;) the 2" lift is an added bonus for when you do head off road!!

Let us know your thoughts once installed if you do decide on Ironman still :)
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything important, it's too late to stop reading it.

So you're saying the ultimate stuff was $1900? That seems a bit higher than I recall it.

Useful info guys, by the sounds of things I best be sticking with what you guys know and recommend,
Can anyone confirm what it'll cos to buy the ultimate suspension kit (not including fitting)

And does the kit come with everything it requires bushes etc?

I know someone has previously said you can get 33's under the new triton but can anyone confirm that too?
With no rubbing on anything either?
Cheers

Price questions.. here: http://www.newtriton.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=4360&p=294373#p292721

Roughly $1500 for kit alone.

The Price difference between the ML/MN Triton and MJ/MK Triton is due to the different front suspension designs.

The earlier Triton's (as some here would know) run a Torsion Bar spring on the front suspension, whereas the later model ML and MN Triton's use a coil-over strut assembly. The difference in price for front springs and shocks alone is $191 retail. The rear end of an earlier MJ/MK is actually about $20 cheaper than the ML/MN, so the difference really is in that front end.

If you'd like a full quote including freight, let me know and I'll work it out for you including the NTN discount. ;)

Just a reminder to everyone that newtriton.net members get a 10% discount of Ultimate Suspension parts.

This makes a full kit for the ML/MN Triton (Springs, Shocks, Bushes, Shackles and U/Bolts) $1667 -10% =$1500 + Freight or $455 fitting and alignment. There are also a few optional extras (e.g pre-assembled struts and tail-shaft spacers) which are available at extra cost.

We aren't the cheapest but we are competitive and provide a high quality, custom product which is backed by an Ultimate Warranty.

We are also getting ready to launch a new website which will list a lot more information on our products and new pricing across a range of vehicles.

So......What determines the front height? The spring or the shock? I had ironman suspension, the front sagged after a while so I put Dobinsons front springs in and it lifted back up nicely. But after doing Cape York, it seems to have sagged again in the front ( though not as much ). So if I got Dobinsons shocks do you reckon it'd lift again?

No.

Coils determine height, shocks control the coil action.
