Good question Homer but I can only guess it's different in all the settings to match the V6 torque curve.
I haven't driven a Triton diesel auto but I have driven the V6 auto and thought it was a match made in heaven, especially compared to the V6 manual. Silky changes, very low revs and 0 - 100kph seemed effortless on a wall of torque with the motor almost idling at a cruise. Loved it! Quiet too.
The 3.2, 2.5 and 3.5 autos all have the same ratios in the box, even the diff ratios are almost identical.
V6 4.3
3.2 with alloy wheels 4.1
3.2/2.5 with steel wheels 3.917
All autos have the same oil capacity so you would think it's just software if there's any difference?
